What should be happening instead? Users should have the correct amount deducted from their rank so they're placed in the proper division.

Alternatively you can track the issue on the Trello board. (Though note that the board doesn't get updated that often)
Just make sure to check this thread every now and then for official responses by EA Community Managers.
They'll try to communicate any relevant information to you guys.
If they need any information they'll ask you guys in this thread, so please make sure to provide the information they request where possible.
Please do keep all posts civil and respectful and make sure to adhere to the User rules & Guidelines on AHQ.
I'd also recommend not to tag any EA Community Managers unless they've instructed you to do so, you can imagine that these mass tags can flood their inboxes. (And mine)

Hi, for clarity I'll repost the tweet from before again.
The actual rank loss should no longer happen, but there can be a visual rank loss, where you're told you deranked but didn't actually.Also there will be an RP restoration for those affected.

Edit: The restoration was applied. However if you have progressed past our previous position you won't be reset as this would roll you back.
