Bro stop complaining. As a player who used to play controller and hit leaderboards on games like Overwatch ono xbox, then moved to MnK and managed to hit it again on pc, at least I have the experience to critique and complain about this topic. Most people who complain about this topic have never even tried to play the other input, and even if they have, they haven't played it long enough to truly say anything about the matter.
One, controller is using joystick. It needs aim assist in fine cursor aiming, especially if it is a faster pace game like Apex Legends. Aiming on controller, is much much harder than aiming with mouse if there is no aim assist. However, there is a lower entry cap for controller players, as their aim will be usually be better than new mouse players. And then again, MnK features a higher skill ceiling that makes it better than controller once a person's aim gets good enough. Playing on controller also forcers players to play on a lower sensitivity, versus playing on mouse which a majority of players have their sensitivity set higher than it should be. Especially considering that the lower it is, the easier it is to aim. This gives controller players an innate advantage in direct 1v1 confrontations of when both players know exactly where the other is.
For literally years you pc players have been complaining about controller players forever, while controller players have been complaining about MnK players for just as long. In most cases, people simply just do not want to admit people are better than them, and want to have an excuse to rely on.
It is a different issue however if the aim assist is too strong. One example of this is most Halo games. This is not really a problem in Apex Legends as the aim assist is even lowered on pc. Yes aiming with mouse is hard when you are starting out. Sure it might feel strong if you just touch it, but it is much lower than you think. Aiming with controller is also hard when you are starting out. It is ridiculously insanely hard when there is no aim assist. Yes aim assist helps majorly the closer the target is, but you can also aim equally as good with the mouse if you already that skilled enough to aim with that on controller. Why? As just like anything, you simply need to put in time. A lot of close quarter fights are more about positioning and strafing. If that controller player put in as much time into the mouse, they can likely still one clip spray easily up close with a mouse.
MnK has many inherent bigger advantages than controllers have too. So what if their aim might be a bit better on average up close. With MnK, you'll have better movement, better aim at range, the ability to react faster, better recoil control, et cetera. You can also use software like Aimlab to rapidly improve your mouse aim.
One is not really better than the other. It is simply trade offs. Although MnK might be better, it has a higher skill ceiling, while controller players having a lower entry skill ceiling. Adding crossplay also adds to the longetitivity of the game, and lets friends play together cross platform.

Hello,
I kindly ask you to remove,
@JayKaiya wrote:Bro stop complaining.
from your post. This is a civil discussion.
I'm not sure you read my entire post, or fully understand it. I say very clearly at the end, " I know first hand how easy it is to play with a controller, and I also know how hard it is to play with a mouse & keyboard.".
I use both input devices, more so controller (22+ years) mouse & keyboard (6 months gaming, (25+ music work, mixing etc). I play Apex Legends on a PC with mostly controllers (about 98%).
I don't think people truly understand that my topics are from a controller user's perspective and automatically assume I'm solely a mouse & keyboard user.
My argument isn't about how strong aim assist is, it's about if mouse & keyboard players should be offered the option of being able to disable cross-play.

Look I have exactly what you have to watch right here to really witness the power of aim assist on consoles.
Playstation Master circuit tournament, I suppose it is 0.6 aim assist.
So no strike packs, no cheats, no rapid fire, no anti recoil and not 1.0 aim assist like the video guy you sent us: they miss like 50% of their shots, they do like 20 damage instead of 200 on PC.
Take a look and don't laugh 😉

Another know-it-all kid. So whatever you say, goes ? Hes talking about option to choose. Aim assist in close range is OP and a lot of pro players think so too. Always when I spec someone if I get oneclipped hard its a controller, rearly a MnK. So let people have their opinion and stop pushing yours down on everybody.

@JayKaiya Just a reminder Overwatch disables aim assist if you join QP PC lobbies + Overwatch leaderboards is not really a achievement anymore as Diamond is leaderboard now unlike me who was top 500 when the game was alive and well back around season 5
Like u console players say MNK is superior yet at the same time attack people wanting MNK servers only(console does have this option).. Its odd to say MNK is stronger and then be against MNK only servers (Console does have this input option),
When will u people learn its about competative intergrity? Like u can make Apex non compatitive crossplay, but make competative crossplay optional as even Overwatch wont combine inputs in their competative mode for this reason.
And besides if you join a PC lobby and u get killed spectate them for a second and u will find even on PC most players are now controller (they wont move when they loot you) and I am tired of PC gaming space being invaded by controllers that to function needs stuff like AA just to function while they do have a standard input.
If you say people should play what they want then give me 80% AA so I can play apex on my steering wheel.- 4 years ago@ZeroGam3z Competitive integrity? No one was attacking anyone. It's usually PC players who cry on here. It's people like you who want to control the whole monopoly. You want PC to have every advantage with no down side vs other inputs. If you want aa changed it's only fair to make recoil more aggressive on mouse on medium to long range as well. If you think for 1 second that getting rid of aa or controllers in your lobby will suddenly make you reach pred level you are mistaken. Sbmm will ensure you are kept right where you are right now. Also, people think it's a aa controller issue when in reality it's a smbb issue and an ability issue. You'll be owned either way in spectacular fashion. Facts.

@tamm89If you are one clipped by a kid on controller then you are nowhere close to being as good at the game as you think you are. You speak as if one clipping isn't a thing on PC? Come play in my lobbies and I'll show you PC players that don't miss a single bullet. Then we can speak about aa being OP..... You have no idea what you are talking about and use "aa is OP" as an excuse for your own bad gameplay and it's cringe to watch.
And no, he's not really talking about the option to choose, no one is buying it. If you look at his previous posts he just wants to get rid of aa to give himself an easier time. Advice: firing range or gtfo. Don't tell me you can't do what the other dude does on controller with the same level of practice. It's a crutch. Yes I play PC too. What makes you think you have the right to dictate other people's inputs? You want change? Vote to get rid of cross play - it's a stupid idea to begin with because people will always use it as an excuse for losing even if it was 100% fair. None of us asked to be in your lobby except for the ~5% who can't put 1 and 1 together.

And another one. Im not dictating anything, just had an opinion. Im not gonna argue with a keyboard warrior. Thats so CRINGE.
