2nd Game to ever make me quit Comp/Ranked

I know people are expecting a rage quit post or something similar but this is not that thread.

I actually want to try and contribute some feedback to the current state of ranked in a way that I think other people feel and why this game is only the 2nd game ever to make me not interested in it.

First, the only other game to just make me stop playing ranked was Overwatch because I never had a dedicated team.

Secondly, this game did it because, the current system caters to really good players and those that have the ridiculous amount of time to queue solo. I am at the point in my life where this type of dedication to a ranked system does not lend itself to actually being able to achieve much. Outside of work, I also spend time with the family and give myself an hour or 2 during the week and then as much as I want during weekends.

I can tell now that is not enough time to grind ranks with randoms on a system that wants every match to be an ALGS match. I just do not have that amount of time. 

I applaud Respawn for actually doing what was right. By that I mean, they are trying to make sure similar skill players are being ranked as such. Completely makes sense and I have no problem with that.

However, the current grind is such that I feel I am relegated to pubs in order to have fun. Which I do enjoy pubs, but I also enjoyed ranked and the pace at which it was played because early fights mattered more than pubs, and actually clutching fights rewarded you early game. That is not the case now. You are probably just better off running away and hiding for 20 minutes. 

Again, I think for the really hardcore Apex players, this is what they wanted and so it was delivered. Myself, I am Diamond ranked and that is as good as I will ever be, and I took pride in hitting that rank solo every season. 

I hope they tweak this a bit, or maybe change a few aspects, but the biggest thing I hope they do is introduce more LTMs and other game modes for people like myself that have been pushed out of ranked. 

Apex is my stress relief at the end of the day and I love good competition, but when you make the primary focus kills in the end game and staying alive, you end up with a slow paced, camping environment where nothing happens for quite some time, and that is boring. Even when I watch ALGS, I fast forward until the 3rd zone just to watch the action.

I am fine with pub stomping, but I really hope other options in Apex present themselves for players like me, because this game is so much fun, I am just disappointed for myself and others like me that wanted the challenge of ranked without the boring pace of ALGS.
