I think the abandonment penalty is asinine. I experience games where my team will intentionally let me die so thy can take my body shield or equipment then revive me, so i get stuck with low tiier equipment because they hid instead of coming to help me. A lot of the time ill die attempting to save them. I will not play with team mates who steal from other team mates, i can see if they need health maybe ammo in a firefight, but when they bail on you intentionally and solely so you die and they can loot you??? The message says it ruins the game for your team if you leave and you get penalized, well what do you call them sabotaging you so they can rob you??? Teamwork???? I mean really??? sincerely diisappointed

@NimzowichYea idk that's odd, from what i understood if you saw that screen u can't leave but if your expired?? But I've read worse. Apparently players were experiencing a glitch so to speak, while dropping into map, where they couldn't see find or hit the ground. Falling through worlds edge, then king's canyon, then really glitchy idk. I love the game, just not the environment people create within the game sadly.

@David_420_93 Just got the penalty because i quit while my whole team was knocked? I guess I should've waited for the guy with golden shield to self revive without a weapon while surrounded by 2-3 enemy teams..

I got the abandonment penalty because I left the match while my teammates left me and we're not going to come back am I supposed to just watch my teamates untill they die? This is absolutely rediculous I did not buy the battle pass just to get the abandonment penalty for leaving teamates who were not going to revive me if you are going to penalize someone it should be if they leave the game while they are alive not when they are dead absolute BS

Hate that when u leave you get a penality but when they pick up your baner and dont revive you thats okay ? so getting traped in a game where you cant leave cuz they got your banner that sucks

I think they realized that wad going on, because they changed it up a little. When you try to leave the match it'll tell you, you'll see a green diamond saying abandonment penalty. If it doesn't say that you're fine to leave. Still though, my kdr has went down almost. 30 from team mates wanting the "hot drop" n try to b like here, here, I'm going here, and they just wanna hit that hour hot spot. I let em go I ain't around to help they die, they quit im playing alone. I go with we get wiped immediately. It's like everyone with somewhat decent stats thinks they can't lose, they're so cocky... I made a club on here with the sole purpose of TEAMS, UNITEDAPEXFRONT, thing is if just anyone joins it'll b the same, and I really don't know how to get ppl to join... 1 member, myself😭😭

That is quite not true, i had yesterday timed out but lingered in the game then i decided to leave to hit a new game (i had expired but game told me i MIGHT get a penalty due to team could possibly res me or something) so i clicked leave and got 20/22mins penalty. But how were they suppose to res me when i had expired?
Game has serious flaws, tbh i Think it has WAY more than it did at release sadly.

@LevelMirror772 That's what they changed I believe, because of that same problem. It is ridiculous, u get petty F'ers that'll just trap you n not even try to revive you cuz they mad about something. When u go to quit it'll tell you if you'll get the penalty, if it says nothing you can. I believe is like 2 1/2 mins of them holding your banner now. F,R, doh ppl make me feel like a hoe but idgaf anymore I report them *'s for leaving early, or being to aggressive via voice chat. It's just b.s. man

@LevelMirror772I was playing a normal game we dropped Overlook so my teammates knocked 1 enemy but then my teammates died. Then i killed the remaining 2 ememies and i noticed that one of my teammates had left the match and the Respawn beacon was literally right next to me.

So i disagree, penalty should be active even if you are dead.
I understand your frustration in Ranked if teammates leave you don't pick up your banner or wait for you to die to pick your purple but it doesn't happen all the time.
Most times they try to respawn you.
You can leave after the respawn is grey timed out or i think after 2,5min when it's green deliver to beacon.

@SpyrosFPS See I get that also, but at the same time I've played games where my team had to drop in this spot that's it nowhere else I suggest. So I break off to find my own loot to notice they followed me and grab it all after I open chest, BS but whatever. Break off a little more so I can actually get something, well find a good or purple body shield now they're in a firefight. Im running back to try to help, they kill off the squad right. Well another squad had the firing and now im caught in the open against whichever, whomever, get knocked. Those *'s will literally sit there till the second I die so they can go grab my armor ect.. like dude I went down try to be captain save a hoe, running or here FOR THEIR BENEFIT. Three quarters of the time I die is cuz I let some rando pull me to a spot I never woulda been at, too get caught in a situation that I would've avoided in the fist place. Idk its all B.S

I died, i hung around for Another 5-10min. they could not revive me cause timer had expired and they did not pick up the badge. i hit escape and click leave and window with " am sure i want to leave blah blah team can res me etc " I click leave but still got 20/22 min penalty.
So basicly if you dead and none picked up your banner and you stay in game for Another 5-10 watching and still get punished makes no sense to me.
