About How We Get Heirlooms

As we all know, heirlooms are either obtained by getting lucky with Apex packs, (I have gotten lucky twice so far), or by spending money in events. Can we please get alternate ways to obtain heirloom shards, rather than just getting lucky or directly buying out an event?

These ways can include:

- Challenges (Similar to weapon progression)
- Events
- Battle Pass

It doesn't even have to award a full 150 shards for doing a hard challenge or finishing a battle pass, (that would be nice though), but please give us a reasonable way to get heirlooms. With all the heirloom legends and weapons skins being added, its hard for players who can't, (or won't), spend money to obtain heirlooms for the legends that they want one for, especially with the direction that the economy is going in. I'm not sure about other countries, but the US economy is only getting worse, so most players can't afford what it takes to even get one heirloom, nor have the time to grind out their account level for free packs.

If we get a way to obtain heirlooms through other methods other than by luck or microtransactions, the system could easily be set up to where the most recent heirloom item can't be unlocked for an additional amount of time after an event unless the shards were earned through Apex packs.

What I mean is that currently heirlooms are meant to be "rare", (even though everytime I die to a Bangalore, Wraith, Mirage, Octane, Horizon, etc. they almost always have one equiped), so if we get another way to get shards, players who bought out an event, (or got lucky with Apex packs), can still show off the heirlooms before others are able to unlock them through another method, (although doing this isn't exactly great either).

In all honesty, heirlooms should be similar to badges, (where players can unlock them), like how the gun progression system currently works, (where its not easy to just unlock the rewards). Locking them mainly behind events doesn't feel like the right way to go, especially since Wraith's heirloom was remade instead of the existing one being updated or set to have a "change skin" option.

The first set of shards I've obtained, I got back in S11 before Valkyrie's heirloom weapon was released in S13 during the "Awakening" event. I waited for the event to end before unlocking her weapon heirloom skin. Now with the second set of shards, I couldn't decide if I wanted to unlock Lifeline's shock sticks, Wraith's Kunai (Hope version), or Revenant's Scythe, so I decided to hang onto those shards, and now Valkyrie's heirloom skin is going to be obtainable in about 14 days.

As a Valkyrie main, I would want to get the heirloom skin, but that's the thing, I shouldn't have to decide. At least with the $20 skins, they're more "affordable" and easier for me to decide if I want to get one. To me, heirlooms are basically progression rewards; you start off not having one, and then you do.
