*Adjusted Again* Add an Armor System, to balance Hitboxes

Respawn

Give each player an armor points based on their hitbox Volume.

The Armor will give a damage reduction to all players health not shields.

Small Characters have 5% Armor

Medium Characters have 10% Armor

Large Characters have 15% Armor

XL Character have 20% Armor

2XL Character have 25% Armor

3XL Character have 30% Armor

4XL character have 35% Armor

5XL Character have 40% Armor

6XL Character have 45% Armor

7XL character have 50% Armor

  • Wraith                                  5% Armor: Adult Small
  • Lifeline                                 5% Armor: Adult Small
  • Octane                                 5% Armor: Adult Small
  • Wattson                              5% Armor: Adult Small
  • Bloodhound                     10% Armor: Adult Medium
  • Mirage                                10% Armor: Adult Medium
  • Bangalore                         10% Armor: Adult Medium
  • Pathfinder                         10% Armor: Adult Medium
  • Caustic                               30% Armor: Adult 3XL
  • Gibraltar(Gibby)           50% Armor: Adult 7XL

Remove Fortified

Remove Wraith, Lifeline, and Pathfinder damage increase

This will be balanced and will justify the Armor many character models wear.

Bangalore is wearing a flak-jacket with a type of kevlar shirt. 10 Armor

Caustic looks to be wearing a fully armored kevlar suit.  30  Armor

Gibraltar is wearing a fully decked out Armored suit. 50 Armor

I believe Gibraltar should have 75 Armor to justify his extreme Armor but many people may say this is over powered.

This armor is for Health only!

**Character Size is based on what type of t-shirt they would fit.**

  • @hhnbbfggty66 Pathfinder has the smallest hitbox. Proof? He's almost literally twice as tall as the two people you've listed as the smallest, and wider.

50% damage reduction... Welcome to the new meta where every team's 3rd player quits because caustic and gibraltar are already taken.

This is a very bad idea.
  • @WHITEyy6969The problem is Lifeline, Wraith, and Pathfinder takes more damage.

Why nerf the health of smaller hitbox characters, when an armor system can be added to simply adjust the health based on character Volume.

I think Lifeline, Wraith, and Pathfinder health should not be nerfed but and Armor system should be introduced because It is a simple solution that fixes and streamlines the correction.

  • @AnlbrdWell, Pathfinder has a small hitbox by volume.

Gibraltar and Caustic are at a disadvantage and has been since the beginning of the game!

The reason you are resistant, is because you are accustom to Gibraltar and Caustic being bad.

Gibraltar is more than twice the size and volume of Wraith.

His body armor needs to be justified!

Also shooting at a pathfinder is like shooting at a skeleton.

@hhnbbfggty66I'll try to remain objective here:

Show me how you know pathfinder's hitbox is small by volume?

The reason I'm resistant to this idea is because it will NEVER be balanced. There is absolutely no observable metric other than "Players like Gibraltar more/less" or "players whine about Pathfinder more/less" that can be used to know if this balancing act has actually worked.

In your example : put a Pathfinder(or any other low armor legend) against a Gibraltar - You have to hit the guy half as many times again as he has to hit you, AFTER you burn his shield down...

If any player out there needs that kind of advantage against another player, they aren't the audience that the game should be balanced around.

If they normalised the character sizes : this kind of arcane guesswork wouldn't even need to happen. Your weapons would do the damage they do on everyone, and your chances of hitting people would come more or less down to how well you aimed.

This doing more/less damage to individual characters is just crazy in a competitive FPS.

At this point I wish they'd just give us the grey/red crash test dummy models from the Training level so this issue can just go away.  I don't care what the characters look like - I care about how the game plays.  Absolutely NO ONE has moved over to Apex from another game saying "Yeah man.. I was on the edge but Apex's art style swung it for me.  The fact that characters are different sizes and therefor fundamentally imbalanced slightly is a price worth paying for fluff".

@hhnbbfggty66If you can't do paragraphs, you're the one with the issue mate :D

[edit] Also lol @ you totally ignoring the request for some kind of evidence about the Path hitbox volume...  Why should we have to provide any kind of backing for wild statements.

  • I know what you mean, and it would be really cool to have armor based on what the characters are ACTUALLY wearing, although

    A) Gibraltar is already extremely fortified so this would be a problem having too much health + arm shield

    B) Its just going to become to complicated, like honestly players are just going to complain that "Pathfinders metal!" and "Octane is wearing nothing" its just gonna be messed, though i really like the idea but yeah.
