@Palette24carats The only game where you could be a pro at using only a controller is Call of Duty. Back when I played on the PS3 version, (2013) I've gotten good enough to make a whole lobby in a "free for all" target me. (3 people even got on mics saying to target me). Everyone just got wiped out and the match ended with me having 32 or so kills and zero deaths.
But here's the thing, it's a point and shoot type of game and a lot of what I was doing was handled by C4s and things like airstrikes and dog strike packs. The time to kill was also very low. Everyone was killable in like two bullets or a knife stab.
Now Apex? Yeah when I was trying the controller on PC to see that the issue was about, I instantly switched back to mouse and keyboard because I couldn't hit targets as easily.
While on console, (going against console players only), aiming was a bit better but I sat there wishing I was on a PC because I was basically a useless teammate.
I've said it a few times before and will say it again, nothing is wrong with aim assist and in fact it often gets in the way.
I've actually turned it off when I was playing Call of Duty back in 2013 because if someone runs in front of you or something else gets in the way, your aim would pull towards them even when you're scoped in with a sniper. The pull was also way stronger than it is in Apex.
