I wouldn’t say controllerplayers are casuals but most consoleplayers definetly are
Only Nonsense is you complaining about something created to level the playing field due to the known issues proven by more data than you could imagine.
1, Carried Aim Assist,
I think you fail to understand how match making works in Apex. You are put with people who the game classes as a similar skill level as you. This means the worse of the worse and the best of the best are not getting into your game. You are mainly getting people with your skill capacity in game. Thus you think all Apex Controller players are the same skill capacity when in reality that is a false statement due to a lack of understanding.
2, Aim Assist in General,
Aim assist is required to make aiming using a controller possible to a high degree. While yes it can be abused it is stupid to think the 0.01% of players who are skilled enough to abuse this wouldnt be abusing the many issues with MnK also. Jitter Aim, no recoil scripts, movement scripts and the list goes on. You simply see it was a controller player and think aim assist was the reason for your death when in reality that person was just better at that point in time.
3, MnK superior,
Now lets also be clear. MnK is superior to a controller. Even 99% of your favorte pros and streamers after complaining about controller all end up back on MnK. God so many streamers trash talking about aim assist. use a controller for a month or a week then instantly go back to MnK when they notice they are worse or roughly the same overall. Even people like Hal have been told by other pro players while his good on controller his far better and more of a threat on MnK.
The thing you have to understand is no one has a level playing field in this game except more likely controller players.
MnK has so many variables to say aim assist is the same as cheating is just insane and shows a clear fundamental lack of knowledge. Lol the guy who bought a top of the range gaming mouse compared to your dads £30 office mouse is already getting extra assist than you.
PS
- 2500hrs MnK Apex
- 3000hrs Ps5 Apex (mainly in mixed pc/console lobbies)
Ive been using both more likely more hours than you have played apex in total. I can 100% say that MnK is better.
Controller is nice when you want to chill and want to relax but if I am going for pure rank or kills I am going MnK all day.

For those like you who defend the irrationality caused by the aim assist of the pad and say, "Pads are weaker than MnK..."
please play on the Tokyo server from now on^^
If what you said is true, users who use converters will be no different than regular MnK users, but it is never real.
Rather, the cheaters using the converter will give you a better idea of how powerful the aiming assist on the pad is.
On the contrary, you're denying reality, even though so many pros and streamers are talking more about how powerful the pad's aiming assist is...
Shouldn't there be very few pad users as you say?
I hope you will suffer a lot from the cheaters using converters and realize the reality.
- 2 years ago@sireladio The denial of some people is hilarious at this point

@matzesingt There's bias certainly but I mean come on... I think I just read a comment implying AA counters recoil, gets on target for you and maintains that. Is Aim Assist unbalanced? I don't know and don't care. Tweak it or not I don't care. Completely eliminate it on PC since I don't play there and don't care.
If anyone tries to sell me a story about Aim Assist consistently doing something I regularly see it fail to do I'm calling BS. Particularly when they play on the system well known for hacks and cheats before crossplay. Far more likely that magical Aim Assist player is just cheating and if you just want to boot them all off PC then fine by me.
Honestly I knew crossplay could be a problem for both sides and I'm just glad the problem is contained to the PC crowd.

If there is a need for such a severe aim assist for controllers to compete with mouse and keyboard then why forcing our lobbies together, specially ranked lobbies. Today it does not matter anymore because ranked is just pubs with a fancy picture holding zero value.
Sure controllers have some draw backs but when it comes to the cake at the final circles one clip no effort aim assist, well that is unfair. Long range sniper battle well I believe controllers have advantage there aswell. It is more likely mid range fights that controllers might be lacking. You all blame mouse and keyboard for being able to do crazy climb moves but most buildings are not climbable anymore in the way they used to. Most likely because of controllers....

Can you site where you get your information from?
The aim assistance issues are;
Equal time invested to each input do not give the same results in the form of accuracy with weapons, placements of matches, kill to death ratios- you know the break down of every aspect that makes a game competitive- aka- the results, like science are backed by large datasets and are not opinions- controller aim assist superior to mouse and keyboard in, categorically speaking, every category. in- it’s not even closeInitially time investments are not even close to balanced either, aim assistance is a baseline of several thousand hours of mouse tracking
Aim assist is software and will always be superior to human input;- aim assistance has no reaction time meaning the game perfectly predicts which way enemies will evasively move to mitigate damage from shots fired at them
- aim assistance has no fatigue meaning that moving a mouse is more taxing on players both mentally (predicting strafe is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT) and physically mouse is using much more muscle to accurately move and shoot in game. meaning the game gets more difficult the longer you play the game
aim assistance is not effected by visual and audio clutter meaning the accuracy of shots by the player with aim assistance into effected during combat
Be honest with yourself, do you even know what muzzle flash is. Being in a dark tunnel, shooting through Bangalore smokes, with an L-star, with grenades exploding next to you. The mouse and keyboard player has to deal with lighting issues, in game ability issues, predict enemy strafe patterns, while dealing with muzzle flash, recoil of the gun, and aim punch from taking damage. Aim assist ignores all of those things and gives players consistent god tier aim with perfect 0ms reaction time during the entire in game situation.
aim assist is incredibly powerful and then shifts gears and gets stronger the closer enemies are.
It turns out, in a game that shrinks over time and forces players closer together, this then gives controller players an additional advantage and win condition by design. And then in those endgames that get chaotic and closer, controller gets stronger and ignores all situational disadvantages that mouse and keyboard has while providing consistent godlike reaction time via aim assistance to the controller player. Side note; you can train your entire life and never come close to aim assist, even at your peak. It’s software and superhuman to say the least.
Oh and these results are backed by millions of dollars, global statistics, the literal results of world championships and tournaments which all have player vods, and the professional opinions of the professional players. Professional players in ALGS World Series are playing for millions and the results back that controller is better. Even the best mechanical players in the world are rated lower than the worst of the worst or D tier controller players.
If the statistics, opinions, and results don’t matter then you’re obviously a flat earth believer…
-aim assistance even goes against what ea devs have said publicly in the past, which is, if players have to switch to controller to stay competitive, WHICH THEY DO AND ARE, then that’s reason enough to nerf it
Also, this isn’t a conversation with devs in any other community. Most developers are active in their respective communities and take advice from the best players in the world. EA is unique because they are completely non communicative with its community and blatantly ignore the community. How they manage to not get boycotted is beyond me. No other competitive fps has aim assist because it’s firmware and diminishes what the professional community as calls “competitive integrity”.
Nobody can deny aim assistance. Pc players on mouse and key and even in the competitive community aren’t even saying get rid of aim assistance. Everybody wants aim assistance to be BALANCED to the competing inputs statistically.
A lot of the apex community wants apex to be a long lasting game but EA has little to no involvement and communication with the community. This compounds when the company has no response to the lack of competitive integrity that persists for years. Largely apex legends is not even considered a fair competitive to the professional community because it caters to aim assistance which again has no competitive integrity.
Fairness is an easy formula and aim assistance doesn’t add up.

@Tspin I'm assuming this is a reply to me but I'm not sure since parts of your reply mentions things I haven't said. Like having a conflict with stats or science when I've only said I'm skeptical of biased opinions. If that part had nothing to do with me then my bad.
Equal time investment won't equal the same results agreed. The consensus opinion is that close range favors controllers partially because of AA while M/KB have the advantage at range. Your last line seems to disagree with that logic but I have no interest in contending with that since that wasn't my original point.
AA is faster than human reaction speed which is why I said its technically a correct statement but meaningless. Anything the game does autonomously is faster than human reaction speed including telling the player when they've taken damage. My problem is that you seem to be grossly exaggerating what Aim Assist can do. There's a world of difference between a gentle slow effect when nearing a target and bouncing your aim to match your target while the player does nothing. I've seen the former not the latter and failed to replicate that effect while fighting against dummies or players.
- (if anything allows such a feat obviously I'm in favor of ripping that out of the game but I don't experience it.)
Aim Assist isn't affected by visual or audio clutter but the player is. The more control you have over your accuracy the more they affect you which is why I'm not surprised this is a bigger issue for M/KB. Anything that obscures vision is still an issue for the player regardless of AA but it hurts M/KB more since they have more control. If this works like any older (or probably current) Call of Duty game then the slight pull of AA is enough to give an experience player an idea of where you are so that's another slight advantage. AA won't track a player through smoke/flashes/foliage on it's own though so don't overstate the advantage.
The flash of the Lstar is distracting but dear god the visual recoil of Gibraltar firing a wingman is disorienting. I stopped using it in Season 1 when it looked like the gun bounced one way, the arm shield bounced another, but the actual shot didn't seem aligned with recoil.
My only complaint is with the exaggeration of what Aim Assist can do (which might be do to the differences in values for AA for each system / the performances of the systems themselves / various cheats / or performances on various settings which I refuse to tweak now.)
Heck I'm in favor of separate lobbies. I don't want to see the BS accuracy of a mouse at range and have no idea why anyone would prefer a controller on PC. Eliminate AA on PC and move on in my opinion.
- 2 years ago@Zamaha400 I’m not over stating the advantages of aim assistance. All of my information comes from professional players and my own experiences when I had a contract for an org and large data sets.
1. 4a) Aim assist does not align with competitive integrity, inputs with aim assist do not even need to predict which way enemies strafe
2. 4a) Aim assist ignores visual and audio clutter
3. Aim assist ignores mental and physical fatigue that inputs without aim assistance are subject too
4. Aim assistance is literal software and has perfect tracking and inhuman 0ms reaction time
5. 3a) Aim assistance makes professional players feel like they would hate their lives if they had continued to play mouse and key. Controller is so strong because of aim assist that players are forced to swap inputs to stay competitive and keep what’s left of their sanity
6. 1a) “D” tier controller players are better than “S” tier mouse and keyboard players because of aim assistance
7. 1a) At 58:40 the group talks about how over tuned aim-assist is in Apex Legends
8. 2a) At 00:35 the best player in the world and two pros continue the discussion on aim-assist
9. 3a) Best player in the world, describing the current state of Apex Legends and what it’s like to play Apex Legends without aim-assist
10. Aim assist gives way to much value and pro leagues are no long scouting mnk players for new roster additions.

You're so wrong it's mind blowing lmao. Please tell me how many hours you have on Mnk? I guarantee you have zero. And if you do have hours then you're incredibly bad and you're in the lowest lobbies where this convo doesn't concern you. You have to be decent or better for this to effect you. Even tho a really bad player can still lock onto a good player and 1 clip them with minimal effort. When professional mnk players who have tens of thousands of hours on mnk are switching to controller by the dozens....there's an issue. Respawn even addressed this many times, they see the issue. They're just too scared to nerf aim assist because 90% of their player base is on controller.
Hal is 100000% better on controller dude lol you have no idea what you're talking about. He's won multiple ALGS on controller now even though he has a fraction of the time spent on a controller vs mnk. Tons of pros are switching. You have no clue what it's like until you have 100's of hours on both inputs. I used to think the same as you before I switched to mnk and now I realize what these mnk players have been complaining about. Fortnite made a huge aim assist nerf and their game is thriving. There is a reason Apex is dying more and more every day...it's not fun for anyone. I haven't even addressed the cronus zen or strikepacks that are undetectable on PC gaming right now. Mnk players can cheat too but eventually they're banned cuz the anti cheat catches them. There is no anticheat for cronus or strikepacks. You'd be surprised how many controller players use them these days.
They should have never allowed controllers to mingle with mnk in shooter games. Cuz then right now everyone playing on a PC would be on MNK like they should be and it'd be a fair playing field. But all the gaming companies saw dollar signs and said screw it, lets let controller players play on PC and now its complete cancer. You're very mistaken and need to learn more bud. Switch to mnk for a couple years and you'll see
- 1 year ago
Hal even said he would've quit Apex a long time ago if he was still on MnK the difference is night and day.
But let's not listen to what the most successful player in the game has to say. Or any other pro for that matter. Let's just listen to a bunch of randoms.
Playing mnk takes more skill and more effort because "using my whole arm" means I'm not just sitting back and twiddling my thumbs. So to compensate for me having to give my arm a workout every time I play, controller gets soft aimbot.
Makes sense. 😭
