An idea for Wattson

In this post, I'm not buffing or reworking Wattson, I'm just changing her some things for be able to offer this legend a more entertaining and easy playstyle. 

Wattson is one of the most difficult legends to master and control in Apex with Mirage and Crypto, I'm not kidding.

FACTORS

I know perfectly she is a legend who works around camping. But I think and truly believe that defensive characters, like Rampart, Caustic and Wattson can be really played in a more fun and none toxic way. The first two have the tools to perform agressive and strategic plays, but with Wattson, is very difficult to do it.

I'm going to say an incredible thing for all of you. Wattson in his current state, she isn't good. I know perfectly that in ranks he is strong and a very decent amount of players actually plays with her. But all the matches they always go in houses with their teams, build their fortress and stays there for the rest of the game, doing an extremely and insane camping.

If you go to the stadistics of all the legends in CASUAL games, Wattson is one of the lowest in pick rate and kill rate.

Now let me explain something important. In a match, her kit goes and works always in the next way:

You get an ultimate accelerant, seconds later you are in a fight, with the accelerant you get the ultimate, you put it, then you can go and start fencing key places, path ways, etc... This is how Wattson gets all his potential and uses all of his kit in a short time, right?

Well, what if... I don't know... maybe... YOU DON'T FIND AN ACCELERANT, EH?

This is what I seriously want to talk about, because is the main problem Wattson has right now. If you don’t have an accelerant, no ultimate, if you don’t have ultimate, no more fences and if you don’t have fences, well… His entire kit depends on the luck in finding one of those objects to use the passive, and that sometimes isn’t an easy thing. Because any enemy grabs that if it isn’t to instantly use it. Nobody wastes a space in his backpack for having it. When you are trying to get one in a lootbox, 100% of the times you aren’t going to find one.

So, I’m not saying that Wattson is useless, but what I want is a bit of redesign on how her abilities works.

CHANGES

Ultimate:

- The pylon no longer recharges your tactical when you are close to it.

- Increase the shield regeneration, from 2 points to 4.

- Reduce the maxim amount of pylons you can set, from 3 to 2.

- The enemy's shields are no longer regenerated when they are close to it.

- Increase the pylon health, from 150 to 250.

Tactical:

- Reduce the cooldown, from 30 seconds to 10.

- Reduce the maxim amount of nodes you can set, from 12 to 10.

- Increase the damage of the fences, from 15 to 20.

All the rest of things stays the same.

With this I give Wattson more freedom in gameplay and not to rely all the time on buildings when you are in a fight. She obviously is still strong in camping and other current things, but not too much. She is less situational, more dynamic and fun to play with her and against her.

If you think this isn't balanced, please read again and visualize all the situations:

Take in consideration for example the fences cooldown. Yes, you can put more nodes in less time, but not in an incredible amount and the ultimate doesn't charge them.

Other one. The ultimate is less powerful, but can regenerate more quickly your shield, is more difficult to destroy and still eliminates grenades and missiles.

Etc…

  • Heavily agree with stop charging enemy shield. I feel like if I could pop the ultimate mid fight without helping the enemy team it'd be a small change but make her much more fun because I hate seeing my enemies shield regen from my ultimate while I'm shooting them.

    Well, that's your problem, because I especifically wrote two examples in the post for let you know, these changes are not a nerf.

  • please make Wattson's fences invisible to the naked eyes of other legends? But when enemies get close to her fences (like 1 metre) the fences is no longer invisible..

    (similar to the virtual cage in arena when we get close its become visible)

    by the time enemies enter the building through the door and realize it, its already too late. they already trapped through the fences
