Anti-Cheat Improvement Idea
Players with a significantly high number of reports are to be suspected as cheaters. These suspects' gameplay is to be screen-recorded and stored on the server. Make an in-game feature for the player...
@Skimpp I understand what you're saying and I personally value the effort, all I'm saying is that there's so many cheaters that it would take the remaining legitimate players from the player base to look over and review.
Recently it hit the news that about 50% of the "pred players" were in a cheating Discord, either playing with cheaters or using cheats themselves, and since preds are basically in every lobby, (for some reason), its hard to say, "not everyone is cheating".
Even if the news never came to light, I still see a ton of low level accounts aimbotting, wall hacking, etc. and tons of diamonds to pred accounts cheating as well.
I've reported at least 50 players in the last week or so alone for things like cheating. About 20-30 of them were using controller cheats like strikepacks, as I saw a few move side to side while looting a deathbox, and others perfectly tracking players like they had a M&K input, some had zero recoil, and some were using movement scripts. These players had a console icon on their banner cards, so it was quite obvious that they were using 3rd party equipment.
The point I'm getting at, is there's so many cheaters and our "player reports" aren't doing much.
I hear nothing for weeks and then I'll randomly get a bunch of "we didn't take action" emails, followed by one or two "thanks for reporting!" emails. Everyone I reported was a smurf, aimbotter, wall hacker, controller cheater, (especially the ones who move side to side while in deathboxes, despite being on a console), boosting, being boosted, playing with a cheater, and even reported players with bad names, (which still seems to exist).
At this point, I'm not saying to stop making the suggestion for this type of anti-cheat, (the game really does need a better anti-cheat), so, if you have some more ideas or any refinements, I'd love to hear it because I'm tired of the cheating problem. (Not that I can do much with it anyways, but here's to hoping EA/Respawn does).
Keep in mind that a lot of cheating is done via two PCs. In other words, the main runs Apex, while the second which is connected, runs the cheats. When the game checks for cheats on the host system, it doesn't see the cheats on the second system. It only sees things like keyboards, mouses, etc. (which the second PC masks itself), to that reguard, the anti-cheat should be allowed to block a device or have some sort of ability to checkif the player has one too many things plugged in because honestly if you got two mouses or keyboards, something might be up. (That's something that needs more ideas and refinements to fight. I know very little about this method of cheating, other than its starting to become popular).
