After playing about a full week of Ranked Arenas, I learned a few things! The first thing I learned is that it is not worth the TIME, EFFORT OR ENERGY to play this game mode. I am currently well over LELVEL 500 and have over 1200 hours in the game. I do not claim to be good at all but what I do have from playing this many hours is game sense. I know the maps, I know how to aim, I know where my teammates are and I know where the other team is as well. Most of this would come natural from just putting in the hours.
I played my first 10 games and won most of them, not all but landed at Bronze 1. I continued to play and all seemed to be going well. No real issues. My solo queue teammates were solid, and they too seemed to have some sense of the game. I SLOWLY worked my way up to GOLD 4. And when I say SLOWLY, I mean, you don't really get my AP for winning a match. I lost a few games on the way again around 5 total but after a few days of playing I was GOLD 4.
That is when it all changed. I did manage to work my way up, all the way to 1 win away from GOLD 3 and then it really started to sink in. It was at this point, I started getting BRAND NEW PLAYERS to APEX on my team. And when I say BRAND NEW, I mean it. They were not SMURF accounts. Now, I realize we all start somewhere and that is totally fine. But what I learned is that it was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to rely on my Teammate when they have only played the game for a few weeks maybe. I was getting LEVEL 13, 34, 18, 24 and the list goes on..... Players that I was being teamed up with. It was impossible to win. Once this all started, I lost almost EVERY SINGLE GAME until I was back in SILVER 1. I was 2 losses away from SILVER 3 and that is where I stopped getting BRAND NEW PLAYERS on my team again. I was getting some LEVEL 500s some 200's and so forth. I managed to work my way back up to GOLD 4 and what do you know, I started getting BRAND NEW PLAYERS again on my team. Now, I'm not saying this is all their fault that we could not win, but remember how lost you were when you started playing? Remember how hard it was to learn the maps? Remember trying to decide which weapon is your go to weapon? Remember when you did not even know there was such a thing as a wall jump? Now imagine how hard this must be to win a match!
I kept playing just to see what would happen. I bounced in and out of GOLD and SILVER over and over again, and each time I was faced with the same issue. I
I am currently back in GOLD 4 and I consistently get 12 AP or a win, and I consistently lose 13-16 if we lose. Basically I would need to win 33.33 games in a row to get to GOLD 3 while playing with a team that has a weeks worth of APEX EXPERIENCE. For each loss, I would have to win twice. Simply Math tells me it would take FOREVER to rank up without a pre made team or unless one is good enough to TRULY CARRY the team.
Bottom line is, there needs to be some sort of adjustment to RANKED ARENAS. Many adjustments in fact. If the so called MMR that is behind the scenes actually works, (AND IT MIGHT), there still has to be a way to level the playing field with APEX EXPERIENCE. Stacking players with 10 hours play time with someone with 1200 hours of play time makes absolutely no sense, in a 1v1 scenario.
I want this to be fun to play, especially when the map rotation in BR is not one that I want to play. But if these issues can't be addressed then I have no choice but to only play when there is a BR map rotation that I enjoy playing. There are plenty of other games out there that I could fill my time with if I choose!

@MuxtunRanked Arenas is CONSTANTLY giving me new accounts, and I'm not getting "new players", these are ACTUAL smurphs, some in which were using cheats.
First off, I get a low level PC player and their Console teammate. The Console teammate didn't do squat the whole match, they were basically a dead weight, while the PC player pushed fights solo, and seemed to know where the enemy team was. We lost the match though.
Then there's the enemy team, Caustic seemed like a "normal" player, Bloodhound was a bit weird in their aim, but Octane was 100% cheating. They were locking onto us and doing quick snapping turns before firing their gun at us. The damage log is included, so people can see that they're all on the same team. Most of the damage done by the enemy team was from the Octane, with the other two just assisting. In round 1, the Octane didn't cheat, and the whole team got squadwiped by the solo Pathfinder, then in round 2, the Octane just flipped on cheats and the moment you get shot at, you're already on the ground, there was no getting away, no healing, no counterattacks, no nothing.
What's also sad and "pathetic", is that there's also this: https://twitter.com/alphaINTEL/status/1426306317526786054 According to Google, more people are searching for hacks, which explains ALL the new accounts I'm seeing in EVERY MODE. Jumped into a trios match yesterday, and everyone was either 20 kill, 4k damage badge pred, or the same bades, but they're only level 1-35.
Apex has became an utter joke now.
Since EA/Respawn doesn't wanna tackle smurph or hackers, I've just been blocking every smurph account, and anyone who seems like or are hacking. I do this, in hopes I see them less often, which I end up do seeing less of them. The only time I see them again, is when they get onto my team, due to the 3rd player being someone I didn't have blocked.
This also happens most of the time:This is another team, and when they started losing, the two console players turned on their strike packs. Lifeline and Gibby started twerking after winning the last round like "hahahahahha I WON" even though they let a CHEAT do all the work for them.

You are surprised there are hackers in any game mode?? The devs do NOTHING about it, of course more and more people will cheat.
Apex has BEEN a joke for over a year now.
- Midnight97464 years agoHero+@Irres169 I'm aware.
- 4 years ago@Midnight9746 Same here. 70% of my ememies are smurfs
- D3loFF4 years agoRising Veteran@Muxtun Exactly the same observation here. As I progressed I started meeting more and more new accounts which were unnaturally high in rank for their skill. I'm starting to think the game was made to support new accounts in order for them to keep playing the game and not quit. Still with costing a lot of nerves I managed to continue progressing, but it was not a pleasant experience at all I have to tell ya.

I concur with all of the above. Ive even had some "friends" say..oh let me go onto my other account, we will get easier lobbies.
Man..talk about pathetic. You wanna get good..you practice hard against good players and not worry about your freakin KD ratio
or tryin to be "the man" with all the kills.
Its really hard tho with all the hacking going on, but to stay on point....I totally agree that getting 13 AP for winning a match is just a joke.
Ive given up on Ranked arenas for that reason alone. Not worth the time you put it in to get 400 AP, 13 at a time, but lose twice as much if you drop a match.
Has to be looked at and some adjustments made IMO.

here is how I understand arena MM work: first you will have a very easy game, you will smack and own your opponent so hard their parents might want to adopt a new one. the next game will get harder and sweatier but it's still in your league. If you lose, come back to square 1. If you win, your next game is gonna be on another level of sweatiness, forcing you to play against some dude that probably have never seen sunlight for 5 years under their mom's basment, also highly possibility of having to face a full stack diamond or above squad with 4k 20 badge on some of them. AND if you win, congratulation son, you are ready for ALG tournament. Your opponent is Itztimmy, ACEU and Shivfps. Good luck, because this is your dead end. I'm a solo queue, made it to silver 1 in rank arena and a hardstuck plat 4 for 2 years in BR and yet somehow the game think I'm ready to fight off a full stack Master after winning 3 games of arena. This MM is a complete joke

Just started the game with a full 3 man team. Lost 2 rounds and one of my TM's left. He only had the red symbol on his ICON. Clearly now we lost the third round, and what do you know, I LOST 18 POINTS. MORE THAN THE 12-16 I USUALLY LOSE IF I LOSE A MATCH.
SOMEONE TELL ME HOW THIS MAKES ANY SENSE AND HOW THIS COULD ALSO BE OVERLOOKED?
- 4 years ago@Muxtun This is such a problem bro. I queue Arenas for like 3 games max, because I simply cannot do anything when I have people who are trying to figure out how to swap guns on my team. I'm all for playing lead and trying to be aggressive, but no part of the game should force me to be 1v3 just because of MMR. I had the same issue (initially matched Gold II, won 9/10 placements) where I just hit a plateau and regardless of how many kills I landed I lost AP. I think they should have come up with a system based on kills and round wins/losses, so it's somewhat similar to Ranked BR.

SO i que'd up with my friend for the unranked qualifier matches.. the entire 10 games were diamonds/masters/plats (we even noted our teammates ranks when we que'd into game and afterward by checkin the profile) we win 6 of 10 games against said upper players... we get placed in silver after the final game. if we were matched against idk maybe people of our skills i wouldnt care but we went up against the absolute sweatiest players and pulled out evenly overall, most of which with me or my friend alternating as the mvp.... instantly made us stop playing the game all together. matchmaking has always been garbage after we win a few games in br but this didnt even make it to that point... silver lol. hopefully they fix the mm and make an announcement otherwise im sure many people wont be coming back to this game or mode even before trying to scale up the ranks.

I never post anything on the forums or internet but the scoring system of ranked arenas really got me frustrated to the tipping point.
I like arenas because it really helps you hone battle skills, gun control. situational awareness, movement, positioning and so on. However, in order to progress you need to rank up and that is absolutely frustrating.
1) MM has no consistency, some games you have opponents level 20-30 roll over me and my team with just Boceks. Another time you get Masters opponents that are just laughable and get railroaded in seconds.
2) RP rewards do not reflect the amount of contribution made by you towards winning. I do not think it is fair to get rewarded 16 RP in Plat 1 for 4K damage ang 8 kills while your teammate made 200 damage and 2 knocks. If you look at regular ranked matches you can still come out on top and progress fairy easily if you do decent damage and get decent kills. But no matter how hard you try you just cant progress in arenas. I spent 1 week in Plat 1 where you get +16, +17, +18 for winning and then -12, -12,- 12 for losing netting you only 15 RP after 4 hours of combat. You need 400 RP just to get to the next level which comes out to 78 hours ( which is like having to work a full time job for 2 weeks). I mean if this was Masters or Pred I would get it, but this is not even diamond rank yet.
I do hope all these posts will get Respawn's attention and this gets re-worked tis season.
- 4 years ago@IxIFelIxI -12 on plat 1? HAHAHA. How about -19 on gold IV? thats the best result so far. And I can't even get what for.
- 4 years ago@Muxtun Agreed. And why is now that ranked is a thing, Pub arenas is still on an abandomnet sytem. Stop teaming against higher levels and only give low level teammates. This game needs fixed bad. Never played any other game in 20 some years that has near as many issues as apex legends does. Costmetics are raking in plenty enough revenue to get this game under control.

Did they changed something, cause as far as I know, you can't drop from Gold back to Silver. Or ist this only if you reach Platin?
I never fall back from Platin to Gold again in Trios Ranked Mode even if I lose all the points earned.

Ranked Battle Royale and Ranked Arenas are not worth. They should make it more appealing so people will play this game more. People only get to flex their rank and such as banners, trails and death box. They should rather have a prize or reward that is fitting the long hours of grind(Predator or Master). A special gun or a costume would be a good start. Or a in real life item, we would appreciate, so people would start spending more money on this game as it will better trend with the society. And you're not rewarding the influencers enough, that makes the game dry af to advertise. In terms of Public Relations it's subpar.

Same here ... ranked Arena (Platin 3 atm) just produce sad moments... so sad, that I changed the Game.
My random Squad:Enemy Squad:
My Bloodhound searching some flowers while we fight... so don't tell me he is a Smurf!
- 4 years ago@Muxtun I am rank 200 and wouldn't consider myself the best of players, especially considering I play on switch and do not have much fps console experience but my friends on pc get like 70 ap every game we win and I get like 20 and because of smurfs or hackers or bad matchmaking I will steamroll one team then get steamrolled for the rest of the day. It is very annoying and I have given up playing arenas for now and am stuck in bronze. Maybe I'm just bad, but it is still annoying how they decided to give you points and the matchmaking has some proplems.
- 4 years ago@Muxtun I'm considering dropping the mode until they fix the MMR. the way that it is atm is unfair. the matchmaking puts you with lvl 30 players that started a week ago or something against 3 stacks with mics and synergy which is unfair. the ap point system is also really inconsistent with me only gaining 20 ap a win in plat 4 when I'm breaking my back for my team. ranked arena's is arguably worse than solo queuing br ranked as a whole.
