After playing about a full week of Ranked Arenas, I learned a few things! The first thing I learned is that it is not worth the TIME, EFFORT OR ENERGY to play this game mode. I am currently well over LELVEL 500 and have over 1200 hours in the game. I do not claim to be good at all but what I do have from playing this many hours is game sense. I know the maps, I know how to aim, I know where my teammates are and I know where the other team is as well. Most of this would come natural from just putting in the hours.
I played my first 10 games and won most of them, not all but landed at Bronze 1. I continued to play and all seemed to be going well. No real issues. My solo queue teammates were solid, and they too seemed to have some sense of the game. I SLOWLY worked my way up to GOLD 4. And when I say SLOWLY, I mean, you don't really get my AP for winning a match. I lost a few games on the way again around 5 total but after a few days of playing I was GOLD 4.
That is when it all changed. I did manage to work my way up, all the way to 1 win away from GOLD 3 and then it really started to sink in. It was at this point, I started getting BRAND NEW PLAYERS to APEX on my team. And when I say BRAND NEW, I mean it. They were not SMURF accounts. Now, I realize we all start somewhere and that is totally fine. But what I learned is that it was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to rely on my Teammate when they have only played the game for a few weeks maybe. I was getting LEVEL 13, 34, 18, 24 and the list goes on..... Players that I was being teamed up with. It was impossible to win. Once this all started, I lost almost EVERY SINGLE GAME until I was back in SILVER 1. I was 2 losses away from SILVER 3 and that is where I stopped getting BRAND NEW PLAYERS on my team again. I was getting some LEVEL 500s some 200's and so forth. I managed to work my way back up to GOLD 4 and what do you know, I started getting BRAND NEW PLAYERS again on my team. Now, I'm not saying this is all their fault that we could not win, but remember how lost you were when you started playing? Remember how hard it was to learn the maps? Remember trying to decide which weapon is your go to weapon? Remember when you did not even know there was such a thing as a wall jump? Now imagine how hard this must be to win a match!
I kept playing just to see what would happen. I bounced in and out of GOLD and SILVER over and over again, and each time I was faced with the same issue. I
I am currently back in GOLD 4 and I consistently get 12 AP or a win, and I consistently lose 13-16 if we lose. Basically I would need to win 33.33 games in a row to get to GOLD 3 while playing with a team that has a weeks worth of APEX EXPERIENCE. For each loss, I would have to win twice. Simply Math tells me it would take FOREVER to rank up without a pre made team or unless one is good enough to TRULY CARRY the team.
Bottom line is, there needs to be some sort of adjustment to RANKED ARENAS. Many adjustments in fact. If the so called MMR that is behind the scenes actually works, (AND IT MIGHT), there still has to be a way to level the playing field with APEX EXPERIENCE. Stacking players with 10 hours play time with someone with 1200 hours of play time makes absolutely no sense, in a 1v1 scenario.
I want this to be fun to play, especially when the map rotation in BR is not one that I want to play. But if these issues can't be addressed then I have no choice but to only play when there is a BR map rotation that I enjoy playing. There are plenty of other games out there that I could fill my time with if I choose!
@MuxtunRanked Arenas is CONSTANTLY giving me new accounts, and I'm not getting "new players", these are ACTUAL smurphs, some in which were using cheats.
First off, I get a low level PC player and their Console teammate. The Console teammate didn't do squat the whole match, they were basically a dead weight, while the PC player pushed fights solo, and seemed to know where the enemy team was. We lost the match though.
Then there's the enemy team, Caustic seemed like a "normal" player, Bloodhound was a bit weird in their aim, but Octane was 100% cheating. They were locking onto us and doing quick snapping turns before firing their gun at us. The damage log is included, so people can see that they're all on the same team. Most of the damage done by the enemy team was from the Octane, with the other two just assisting. In round 1, the Octane didn't cheat, and the whole team got squadwiped by the solo Pathfinder, then in round 2, the Octane just flipped on cheats and the moment you get shot at, you're already on the ground, there was no getting away, no healing, no counterattacks, no nothing.
What's also sad and "pathetic", is that there's also this: https://twitter.com/alphaINTEL/status/1426306317526786054 According to Google, more people are searching for hacks, which explains ALL the new accounts I'm seeing in EVERY MODE. Jumped into a trios match yesterday, and everyone was either 20 kill, 4k damage badge pred, or the same bades, but they're only level 1-35.
Apex has became an utter joke now.
Since EA/Respawn doesn't wanna tackle smurph or hackers, I've just been blocking every smurph account, and anyone who seems like or are hacking. I do this, in hopes I see them less often, which I end up do seeing less of them. The only time I see them again, is when they get onto my team, due to the 3rd player being someone I didn't have blocked.
This also happens most of the time:
This is another team, and when they started losing, the two console players turned on their strike packs. Lifeline and Gibby started twerking after winning the last round like "hahahahahha I WON" even though they let a CHEAT do all the work for them.

You are surprised there are hackers in any game mode?? The devs do NOTHING about it, of course more and more people will cheat.
Apex has BEEN a joke for over a year now.
