After playing about a full week of Ranked Arenas, I learned a few things! The first thing I learned is that it is not worth the TIME, EFFORT OR ENERGY to play this game mode. I am currently well over LELVEL 500 and have over 1200 hours in the game. I do not claim to be good at all but what I do have from playing this many hours is game sense. I know the maps, I know how to aim, I know where my teammates are and I know where the other team is as well. Most of this would come natural from just putting in the hours.
I played my first 10 games and won most of them, not all but landed at Bronze 1. I continued to play and all seemed to be going well. No real issues. My solo queue teammates were solid, and they too seemed to have some sense of the game. I SLOWLY worked my way up to GOLD 4. And when I say SLOWLY, I mean, you don't really get my AP for winning a match. I lost a few games on the way again around 5 total but after a few days of playing I was GOLD 4.
That is when it all changed. I did manage to work my way up, all the way to 1 win away from GOLD 3 and then it really started to sink in. It was at this point, I started getting BRAND NEW PLAYERS to APEX on my team. And when I say BRAND NEW, I mean it. They were not SMURF accounts. Now, I realize we all start somewhere and that is totally fine. But what I learned is that it was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to rely on my Teammate when they have only played the game for a few weeks maybe. I was getting LEVEL 13, 34, 18, 24 and the list goes on..... Players that I was being teamed up with. It was impossible to win. Once this all started, I lost almost EVERY SINGLE GAME until I was back in SILVER 1. I was 2 losses away from SILVER 3 and that is where I stopped getting BRAND NEW PLAYERS on my team again. I was getting some LEVEL 500s some 200's and so forth. I managed to work my way back up to GOLD 4 and what do you know, I started getting BRAND NEW PLAYERS again on my team. Now, I'm not saying this is all their fault that we could not win, but remember how lost you were when you started playing? Remember how hard it was to learn the maps? Remember trying to decide which weapon is your go to weapon? Remember when you did not even know there was such a thing as a wall jump? Now imagine how hard this must be to win a match!
I kept playing just to see what would happen. I bounced in and out of GOLD and SILVER over and over again, and each time I was faced with the same issue. I
I am currently back in GOLD 4 and I consistently get 12 AP or a win, and I consistently lose 13-16 if we lose. Basically I would need to win 33.33 games in a row to get to GOLD 3 while playing with a team that has a weeks worth of APEX EXPERIENCE. For each loss, I would have to win twice. Simply Math tells me it would take FOREVER to rank up without a pre made team or unless one is good enough to TRULY CARRY the team.
Bottom line is, there needs to be some sort of adjustment to RANKED ARENAS. Many adjustments in fact. If the so called MMR that is behind the scenes actually works, (AND IT MIGHT), there still has to be a way to level the playing field with APEX EXPERIENCE. Stacking players with 10 hours play time with someone with 1200 hours of play time makes absolutely no sense, in a 1v1 scenario.
I want this to be fun to play, especially when the map rotation in BR is not one that I want to play. But if these issues can't be addressed then I have no choice but to only play when there is a BR map rotation that I enjoy playing. There are plenty of other games out there that I could fill my time with if I choose!

I concur with all of the above. Ive even had some "friends" say..oh let me go onto my other account, we will get easier lobbies.
Man..talk about pathetic. You wanna get good..you practice hard against good players and not worry about your freakin KD ratio
or tryin to be "the man" with all the kills.
Its really hard tho with all the hacking going on, but to stay on point....I totally agree that getting 13 AP for winning a match is just a joke.
Ive given up on Ranked arenas for that reason alone. Not worth the time you put it in to get 400 AP, 13 at a time, but lose twice as much if you drop a match.
Has to be looked at and some adjustments made IMO.

here is how I understand arena MM work: first you will have a very easy game, you will smack and own your opponent so hard their parents might want to adopt a new one. the next game will get harder and sweatier but it's still in your league. If you lose, come back to square 1. If you win, your next game is gonna be on another level of sweatiness, forcing you to play against some dude that probably have never seen sunlight for 5 years under their mom's basment, also highly possibility of having to face a full stack diamond or above squad with 4k 20 badge on some of them. AND if you win, congratulation son, you are ready for ALG tournament. Your opponent is Itztimmy, ACEU and Shivfps. Good luck, because this is your dead end. I'm a solo queue, made it to silver 1 in rank arena and a hardstuck plat 4 for 2 years in BR and yet somehow the game think I'm ready to fight off a full stack Master after winning 3 games of arena. This MM is a complete joke
