It seems you are trying to use ImperialHal’s case to prove that AA is so dominant that it must be removed. However, your own achievement of reaching Master rank on both MnK and controller actually serves as a counter-evidence to your claim.
In your post, you stated:
"It’s turned the Diamond rank where most players are into a downgraded version of PUBG."

If AA were truly as overpowered as you claim, why do the vast majority of players in Diamond rank remain at a lower tier than you?
It proves that the impact of AA is limited, and individual skill remains the deciding factor in ranking up.
furthermore, you mentioned:
"I wanna go back to the 'golden age' from S1 through S7."

But wasn't AA for PC controllers already present during S1 through S7? This is proof that Apex can have its "golden age" even with AA in the game.
Even Midnight9746 mentioned in his reply:
"although I'm sure the aim assist could use a bit of a rework"
Midnight9746 and I both agree you there is room for improvement and re-balancing.
Aren’t you over-fixating on the "removal" of the system?
That’s not a counterargument at all. I’ve been playing FPS for about a decade and have played professionally twice. If you think this is what an "average" player looks like, then sure, the high population in Diamond would seem weird—but that’s not the case. The only reason Diamond is so crowded is because AA is carrying people who shouldn’t be there. Most of them hit Diamond without even knowing the basics of BR, just thanks to AA. That’s exactly why it’s such a hardstuck hellhole.Besides, if the impact of AA is really as "limited" as you claim, you wouldn't mind if they just removed it, right?
And about the "Golden Age"—anyone who was actually there knows that controllers were a tiny minority. Most streamers were on MnK back then. Controller players only started swarming the game as the seasons went by. The Golden Age was essentially an era where AA didn’t dictate the meta.
There's a reason I'm pushing for the total removal of the system. Remember when AA went from 0.4 to 0.3? Did the player count go up? Nope. The meta stayed the same, and all it did was erode trust. Even if they tweak the numbers again, people aren't coming back.
There are two types of AA: Slowdown and Rotational. Rotational AA is the real issue because its tracking exceeds human reaction speeds. If the proposal was specifically to remove Rotational AA, that would actually be practical—but what percentage of the community even understands that distinction?

I never said "average." And just as a side note, ImperialHal is not an average player either. My point was that there are many PAD players at ranks even lower than yours(MnK).
I have already stated the reasons why I oppose the removal of AA. How many times do I have to repeat the same thing?
As I have said repeatedly, I agree that AA is powerful enough to require adjustment. However, the fact that Rotational AA is problematic does not immediately mean that "all" AA should be removed. The reason, as I have told you many times, is that simply deleting AA would only invite a different form of unfairness.
You claim you have no complaints, but isn't it contradictory to look down on others by saying, "Most of them hit Diamond without even knowing the basics of BR, just thanks to AA"?
