i mean no devs could be that clueless 3 season in a row right ?
@WTF_Huitzo The old matchmaking, (before S17) was actually better. If they used that, and worked more on how players are matched up, like factoring in how many kills/assists they're getting, maybe a bit of playstyle, it could better pit players against each other.
Like, if someone is killing 20+ players by themselves, they shouldn't be in a match with players who can barely squadwipe a team as a solo. It be like if you take one of the top pred players and dropped them into an orientation match against someone who just downloaded the game. That's completely unfair to the new player having to go up against a high ranking player.
Furthermore, the current matchmaking doesn't seem to care at all about who's good and who's bad. It seems to care more about placement. If you're placing top 5, you must be really good at the game right? I've even noticed that the match gets the same amount of difficult if I get zero kills and zero assists, and if I manage to get 1-9 kills and assists, being the kill leader, etc., as long as I manage to reach top 10, especially top 5.
In other words:
No skills, top 5 = tougher matches
Having skills, top 5 = tougher matches
That to me, isn't SBMM because we should be placed in higher MMRs based on performance, not placement. Its also not possible to be called SBMM when even after taking about a 3 week break, (2 weeks to enjoy the Post event, plus an extra week), and I was in easy lobbies for the first two matches, and then got shoved right back into matches with players I saw the 3 weeks prior to taking my break, and they're already in diamond. I'm still silver. If they climbed so high like that, they're clearly better, why are they in my matches? EOMM, that's why.
From the way it appears to work, the matchmaking is designed to annoy players with harder matches to force them to want to do better and thus keep playing, but when it thinks the player is going to get off, they get easier matches, but to keep players from ending on wins, it goes right back to bullying them with the harder matches.
Its an endless cycle of "I hate this game because everyone is so much better than me" and "wow, I'm so cracked, maybe I should go pro". It creates problems, it adds tension, and there's a reason why you get toxic teammates most of the time.
I also feel like loot distribution is tied into the whole EOMM, and here's why, when I'm doing good and putting up with the matchmaking, I don't easily find guns, and it takes several buildings to find ones I'd use, and I would run into a lot of P2020's and Mozam's, and then when I'm on a long loss streak, I loot one POI, and suddenly find 5 shield batteries. I've had matches where players are literally bots, and I'd find 15+ shield batteries within one whole named location. That's suspicious to me as it seems to be trying to help players in the long losing streak win matches, while hindering or trying to stop the ones doing well or winning from continuing to do so.

loot and hit registration information are absolutely tied to the matchmaking as well. Every bit of this game is rigged, unfortunately I can't be convinced otherwise.

@ShidWidley69420This seems like its the case.
First game in 3 days, my teammates were suspicious in terms of skills and both were running off as a solo and were taking on full teams out in the open where other teams were 3rd partying, and neither were getting knocked. Healing, shields, ammo, etc. was everywhere. Ended up winning that match, which both players seemed to be using some sort of cheat. I found a golden light mag, golden heavy mag, 6+ shield batteries, 3+ med kits, I had 4 stacks of light and heavy ammo, shield cells and syringes were very common, I was finding 3-4 in every area.
The next match, both teammates were absolute bots and died not even one minute into the match to diamond and master players, (still in silver by the way), guns, ammo, and healing were hard to come by and players seemed to be able to beam my health away but when I hit them, it did nothing or anywhere between 9 and 11 damage.
The 3rd match, yeah, loot wasn't any better and the enemy players were full on aimbotting. It was so obvious when I was spectating a Pathfinder who had killed my whole team, and his bullets were curving around objects, walls, doors, etc. to hit people behind them, and I don't mean visual lag or anything, the bullet line was actually changing trajectory, (which is called soft aimbot). One of my randoms were AFK right off the bat and got killed off.I've said it once, I'll say it again, we need a better anti-cheat, as "easy anti-cheat" isn't cutting it.
Edited: The 4th match after writing this, the matchmaking dialed itself back down to how it was during the first match, and loot was more common, however the whole match was still off because my teammates died off the start again, but to people who weren't even that good, and when I grabbed their banners and ran to a respawn beacon, I found a random AFK Mirage, I killed them, and they instantly died and it said "the champion was eliminated". Then pretty much every single team we came across avoided fighting with us, and then we ran into a team with either no badges and stat trackers, or it was event ones, and they were full on cheating and when they killed all 3 of us, my spectation was forced to watch a team on the complete otherside of the map.
I'm at the point where I should just uninstall but the Uprising event sounds like its going to be fun. Ugh.
Edited 2: 5th match, didn't see anyone for the most part, and then suddenly ran into a team where one of them were cheating, I know that because we knocked and killed one, the second couldn't hit anything, and the 3rd was beaming us, and then my spectation was forced once again onto a squad on the complete opposite side of the map, which I don't think that's a bug because think about it, if I think they're cheating, which I am, I can't spectate them until the team I'm forced to watch goes over to them, which at that point, it would either be the last team alive, or the average player would of given up and left the match.
No idea why the force spectation cheat came back, but it was patched out for about 2 seasons as I didn't see it.
Note: Both times I got squad wiped, there was no one else nearby that could of killed the team that killed me, and even if there was, I would be watching their killers, not someone on the complete opposite, farthest as possible, side of the map.- 2 years ago
@Midnight9746
Cheat
Aim Assist
Chronus
Strike Packs
Have killed this game beyond killed this game.
One more day a new game I have my eyes set on comes out.
I also decided to only look and play game that you can either turn off aim assist "to play against" or has no aim assist at all something to keep in mind. Which means only looking for excusive PC games only. But I agree on what you said. Apex is no longer playable for a MKB player.
