I tried to get my girlfriend involved in apex. She was immediately thrown into higher level lobbies after two games. It is ridiculous to expect anyone to be able to learn a game when they get thrown into pred lobbies or lobbies that have people 500x her level. I’m not sure what’s going on with this game but it needs to get fixed asap or it’ll become less and less playable.
I'm a completely new player too. I thought the matchmaking was broken because I kept getting killed off drop by people with thousands of kills. Most if not all of my games involve getting killed shortly after we drop. For a new player, this game feels unplayable because you don't really get to play at all.
@Kyleoverst1 it has always had a very steep learning curve. I kinda stick to mix tape these days.
@Kyleoverst1The matchmaking is completely broken and has been for at least 6 seasons. Being a new player to Apex at this point must be excruciatingly painful. I'm solidly average and I remember how frustrating my first season was (KDR 0.35 in Season 8). It can only be worse now.

Matchmaking has never been balanced, they "changed" it countless times but it's always mixing casual players with pros. And Comp is fully broken, had * placements and got into bronze and I'm still facing preds and sweats in there, insanely pathetic matchmaking. They're avoiding making separate servers for different skill categories like it's the plague, so scared of "Separating the community" even tho it will help everyone, and the worst they're imagining won't happen, as the worst is already happening in different ways.
Now with the Sword, newbies will get a quick 100% frusttration level for free ;-)
