@MsShwifty989 From what I've heard, (and this is all rumors thus far), there's supposedly plans for Apex Mobile's return.
I remember hearing about it having cross-progression with the main game, but not so much cross-platform as only the players on the Switch would be put into lobbies with mobile players. (Which makes sense since both the Switch and Mobile would have controller gyro). We'd have to wait and see if EA/Respawn announces anything.
The reason why Apex Mobile was removed from the app store was due to the playerbase going down and that the game wasn't preforming well enough to keep it going. I honestly don't blame EA/Respawn for closing the game down. Keeping it up would of been like trying to keep a Minecraft server up while having zero players. All they would be doing would be spending money, (and no one wants to be losing money). Also keep in mind that the game was being developed by another company called Tencent, so EA had to pay additional people to keep the mobile version running. That adds to the cost.
In short:
Why did it end? - It comes down to the direction the game was going in, the average player count of those playing the game, and the fact that the costs to keep the game running outweighed what they could afford.
Will it come back? - I personally can see it making its return, but its also as likely to not be coming back. There's also the issue with Faide and Rhapsody, as they were meant to be mobile only along with a lot of cosmetics. If the mobile version is actually going to be part of the main game, these two would have to join the main game's roster and the cosmetics would have to come to the main game as well. (Otherwise, players would be very upset if these items were removed if and when the game made a return).
