@xvAmneslaand because its a free game, the publisher has to make money somehow. its COSMETIC! you dont need it to win. guys stop asking for free *, we cant have a free game if the publisher is not allowed to make money another way, thats how life works, thats how the world works
if you dont like it, go play outside hide and seek or whatever!
That's the kind of thinking that lets people think you can get away with 7 dollar loot boxes, prize pools that cost 168 dollars total with no way of purchasing individual skins, and an additional 35 dollar cosmetic item on top of that. Just because it's free, doesn't mean the pricing should be high.
Edit: Just thought I'd expand on this. Currently the Voidwalker event has a few skins that cost five dollars. That's fair. They have legendary skins that cost 12 to 18 dollars. Is that fair? I'll leave you to be the judge of that. However currently there is no other way of getting crafting metals (AKA not paying for skins with real money) aside from, you guessed it, loot boxes. So really the issues are:
1. Why can we get skins without paying real money for them with crafting metals, if the only way to get crafting metals consistently (without an event or the battle pass) is to pay real money?
2. If we can really only pay real money for skins, why even bother having crafting metals at all, and why not just reduce the prices on the skins.
3. Legend tokens are useless, why can't we convert those into crafting metals at a ratio?
4. If we're allowed to convert the tokens, it has to be a rate that feels fair, but is still time consuming, keeping a balance between you CAN work for it, but it's faster to buy directly.
Sure they have to make money but the “it’s a free game” and the “they are only cosmetics” is no excuse for charging more than my monthly Netflix sub for a skin and request it nearly daily. It the deficient thought processes like that (not to mention youtubers and streamers), that are causing such inflated prices in the first place. Lower prices would push more items out making more money in the long run. Luckily for these kinda places though they have so many people who don’t have any concept of value and money handling.
