I get that a lot of higher tier players are having issues, but I just started playing on Switch (I suck on console), and I'm having some issues too. Naturally I'm PCMR but my computer broke so unfortunately I'm playing on Switch now. I got to around level 30 or so with two other squadmates and the matchmaking was great. It was challenging but not overly difficult and we managed to get some wins in (despite my incompetence on console). The players were all around our level. However, all of a sudden we were put into extremely high level matches with level 300+ Champions with thousands of kills, compared to my measly 50. We didn't stand a chance in these matches, and we were lucky if we got a single squad wipe. None of us are particularly good and we weren't on a winning streak or anything before. While the idea of skill-based matchmaking is great, it's just way too broad in Apex for players like me who like the game but who also suck at it.

@Rubber_Ducky122 I feel your pain! I was playing last night with two of my PhD friends and both were new one at level 9 and one at level 49 and I am level 500 for the past 6 months, master rank got to diamond rank this first split. And we struggled massively, we also didn't get any squad wipes and they were not having a good time. Apex really does not reward friendly gameplay and I just wanted to play with my friends and enjoy the game! Yeah I do feel that also Warzone match making isn't great, if we were to jump on that we would have got a few squad kills for sure! Apex match-making needs to change some how to reflect the average stats of the whole squad not just the stats of the best player because we were in lobbies full of master rank and preds with 13k kills plus which is a lot even for me, let alone a level 9 and 49! hmmmm...
