Apex rat legends

Seriously remove the darn position rewards or atleast make em extremely small.

Everybody is afraid to fight. Marksman/sniper everywhere. everybody's off in the buildings.

There were less rats on season 17 ngl.

  • I understand the frustration that the weight of position points is too high, leading to fewer opportunities for engaging in fights.

However, the developers have recently been making adjustments to increase the value of kill points. It's better to make adjustments step-by-step while monitoring the situation, instead of doing them all at once.

Fundamentally, I think it's reasonable for the earned RP to be meager when your squad ranking is low (11th to 20th), as it is a battle royale game.

There might be room for improvement in two areas: first, the fact that you can still earn positive RP even in the 6th to 10th rank by simply surviving without engaging in combat; and second, that the kill points for those in 5th place or higher are still too low.

  • First off: using the term "rat" to describe a play style you don't like or disagree with is a little bitchy. Not sure if I can use that word here, but even if it's blocked I'm sure you'll get the meaning from context.

Second: People are not "afraid" to fight. Please stop trying to taunt people like we're second graders on a play ground. People are less willing to fight because the current system rewards other things. It's possible that currently the game is rewarding other things too much. But there is more to the game than gun fights. Sometimes the "where" and the "when" of a gun fight is far more critical than just identifying a target and rushing it because most players in the game are children with attention disorder.  The game should reward more than just mechanical skill.

Third: "Marksman everywhere." This is kind of thing that makes me wonder if you've ever even played the game. Why wouldn't there be marksmen everywhere? Why wouldn't you opt to use a weapon that makes it harder for an enemy to respond? Who told you that Apex Legends, a game played out on HUGE maps, with vast open spaces between buildings and POIs, was exclusively (or even predominantly) a close-quarters game?

Fourth: You're tired of enemies barricading themselves in buildings? Okay. Ask the dev to delete buildings. And cover. No more HIDING. Let's all just spawn into an empty map and shoot until there's only one guy left standing. Spoiler alert: it'll be the guy who is a cheater. Which makes me wonder.... I'm not saying that you yourself are a cheater, but I am saying that your post is exactly the kind of thing a frustrated cheater would say.

But people are afraid to fight. i cant count how many times teamates cried bout "we have alot of kd dont fight/stay safe/play for position..." WHY ? BECAUSE KILLS DONT MATTER IF POSITION IS LOW thats BS if i kill 6 people before top 10 i should get more rp than some noob who stayed afk at the edge of the map till top 5...

close combat is basicaly non existant until ring get too small to poke... then you get last ring where 3 or 4 teams fight like headless chickens until random team wins... Ive seen so many blue shields on last ring its disgusting.

Season 25 had perfect ranked system PERFECT but naw someone decided its a good idea to put algs type of style in ranked matches where you get 2 random teamates that dont agree on whether they want to play close range or far range ending up either split up in fights or pulling up close range with a sentinel...

I'm not saying the system strikes the right balance between kills and placement. I'm just saying that it is what it is, at least for this season. And we all know which behavior is being favored. And acting accordingly doesn't make anyone afraid. It makes them someone who cares about their rank and is willing to work the system no matter what it rewards or penalizes. The op can use all the provocative language he wants, but players aren't afraid. They're smart. To a point. If they were really smart they wouldn't play ranked at all, but if you're going to go there then at least know what it is the dev wants you to do and try your hardest to do it. In this case they want people to be patient. Or strategic. They don't want them blundering from one rush to the next without any thought at all to position, circle, or timer. And honestly, in my experience most of the players in this game could use a lesson in patience. Take the medicine.

The idea that players are "avoiding combat" is a misunderstanding. Players are, in fact, eager for the intense fights near the final round and are simply taking the most efficient path to reach that point.

With the introduction of the POI  system and the increase in Survey Beacons, it is extremely difficult to survive until the end by simply hiding. (I don't know of any way to escape a wall-piercing scan from a Valkyrie, for example.)

Securing our team's position requires a comprehensive set of skills.

Furthermore, shields now gain Evolution Points through damage and squad contribution, not just kills.
