Forum Discussion
What audio setting do you have set under your Xbox One settings and what kind of headset do you use? If it's wired, do you use any sort of volume adapter?
I think bitstream out or stereo uncompressed. Haven’t looked at it for a while since there’s no need to.

Do you get the same audio issues without the amp? There is a feature in the Xbox One Settings to change to 5.1 uncompressed, 7.1 uncompressed, Bitstream out, or Stereo uncompressed. (100% sure you are aware of this because you mentioned them)
Be sure to check if the controller is updated for compatibility reasons too. Here is how to do that on Xbox One.keep us updated and thanks for troubleshooting this with us.
I get that it's frustrating to experience, but that does not add any value this discussion. We will let the team know how players in the forums feel how it's impacting their enjoyment of the game and how important an issue is to be looked into, but this is not happening to 100% of the playerbase. We need to troubleshoot by narrowing down and/or rule out any third party hardware that's resulting in technical issues. Some players are willing to take time to troubleshooting and we're here to do that as well.
A great example is how some Aura lighting was triggering the Easy Anti-Cheat program. Not everyone uses lighting services, but once we find out what's causing it we can relay that over to the development teams so they're aware, which ultimately helps find and implement fixes in a shorter period of time.
Another great example is how FPS was suddenly locked for BF3 in a Windows build. This forum user relayed some valuable information to the community so others that stumble across it can find a workaround fix while it's being investigated.- 6 years ago
Totally understandable but you’ve got to understand how aggravating it is , this and all the other bugs that I report and get no response to or just told it’s on my end - left me feeling a bit bitter with the game today tbh.
I play on console and every single person I’ve spoken to that plays on console agrees there’s an audio issue with footsteps - and also no one has any issues with other games and their devices.
And the other thing is the problem has got way worse after the launch of season 2. The patch towards the end of season 1 seemed to fix the problem for everyone I spoke to but all the old bugs are back except for the distorted audio - that is literally the only bug that hasn’t returned .
Maybe your right and it’s mostly user error or hardware fault on pc but for console players I’m almost certain it’s on the games end 9/10 times.
Maybe I also shouldn’t comment on a post whilst still raging from the exact problem the topic dictates haha.

Totally understand where you're coming from, I play on console too and have experience some audio issues too. There are definitely some audio concerns the team is still working on improving, but we'll do everything we can in the meantime to make the game more enjoyable.
I'm really starting to walk more often now in game because it helps reduce footsteps. Everyone naturally runs everywhere and makes it obvious an enemy is coming at you. Gotta' go sneaky sneaky sometimes! Trust me. With that being said, it's sometimes hard to distinguish between an authentic audio issue with the game, a player naturally being snuck up on, or third party hardware unless we dive into some troubleshooting.Good luck this weekend!
