Arena maps
Every map in Arenas ends up being hard camping either side with marksman/sniper until later rings, or just has egregious errors in design. These are all too big to be 3v3 maps, regardless of individual map critique.
Phase runner is a really sad poking fight until someone teamfires a down and pushes in, and I almost always end up getting rings on the portal side of the map. This makes the gameplay here even more stale and repetitive.
Dome is visually terrible to fight in (from high to low settings I've tested that the "smoke" clutters every screen) and the silos STILL do not have an OOB timer. I guarantee you that this map forces a path/valk/rev legend choice and someone can easily take advantage by camping silos, especially since one team spawns 50m away from them while the other spawns 120. I thought balance meant leaving room to play as any legend. Also too big for a proper 3v3.
Overflow is not bad but in higher ranks it can still suffer from the side camp sniping gameplay. This map was designed much better than others arenas maps and prob has the least issues out of the lot
Gardens from Olympus simply starts off WAY too big. That is a POI that was meant for several teams to land on and throw down in, not for 3 people to run around trying to snipe the other 3 people in.
KC bunker town map has the worst of phase runner and the worst of Dome. Height camping on tower side rings wins the round, and camping roofs/sniping and waiting for downs will win the round on a lowground ring.
Party Crasher is strange, as only half the map ever gets used. Whichever ring side the map goes to, two teams camp opposite sides to poke a down and then rush in to wipe. It's also CQC enough that lmg/smg weapons can dominate this map. the huge open lowground in the middle makes traversing the map "left to right" a terrible idea
I have critiques on others that have come in but can't remember them all atm. One thing is consistent across all of these maps, the huge map and rotate in through rings encourages unhealthy play on every map. You throw 3 people on either side of a map that can realistically fit 4-5 teams in real combat and force them closer via ring mechanics. With a battle royale this is a core mechanic but an arena style game mode plus the BR ring mechanics makes no sense.
PS: Is no one acknowledging the huge flop Arenas has been since launch?
