Arenas 3v3 is a great addition to Apex. Lets make it better together.
Developers,
I just want to say thank you for doing a great job adding Arenas to Apex. It is an amazing game mode and I know you worked extremely hard in making this game mode along with the maps. I do have some feedback on what I think will make it a better experience.
- When upgrading a weapon, you should be able to choose which attachments you want on it. If the player has 1350 credits and would like to have a 30-30 and an alternator, they would spend 750 credits just for the weapons. The player while will need attachments to make each weapon better, the priority will be on consumables/abilities as these will help you stay alive longer and/or learn where the enemy is sooner. So you would need to buy healing items and skills. 300-350 credits spent getting 2 additional sets of syringes, shield cells, and 1 medkit, and 50-100 for each skill you choose to buy. This leaves you with roughly 300 credits.
Ideally, for the 30-30 you would want at minimum a 2x sight on it as while it is strong up close, that is not the ideal way of using it. However for the alternator, while a sight is helpful, most will prefer a larger magazine or stabilizer. In the current state, you will be unable to do both unless you buy the full set which will cost over 800 credits for both weapons. When buying you should be able to purchase just a 2x ranger on the 30-30 if you want to for a lower number of credits than buying the full set. This will take more time to do, and I recommend adding 5-10 seconds to the buy phase. - Weapons should either carry over to the next * you with R99's or will purchase a flatline and shoot out early round as they can purchase that with the 550 credits you get. It is much stronger first round to YOLO your life savings into $GME and get a higher ROI that round. If you lose the first round, the second round is just a repeat of the first round since you get 0 credits for downs, but only for canisters and kills. The fights only start to slow down and feel "enjoyable" with abilities, healing, and grenades after round 4.
The credits you get from either the canisters and/or kills doesn't feel like enough to be an impact next round. If you lose the round you are not that far at a disadvantage.
I REALLY want arenas to succeed as I love this game mode.
