I'm also mostly enjoying it. It levels the playing field to who can hit their shots instead of who survives because they got RNG lucky and got the purple armor, helmet, and some overpowered hop ups.Not having to armor swap before getting insta-7th partied is great, since nobody has armor LOL.

There's still some pretty strong rng with the golden snipers lying around, plus the occasional Kraber; either give enormous advantage for the entire game.
I will say the lack of high tier armour, and lessened need for hop-ups makes respawned teammates a lot more useful.
The scarcity of shield cells (and to a lesser extent, meds) makes depleting teams of resources with long range sniping a lot more viable too, which is an interesting meta shift.
Though it makes Lifeline, Octane, and Gibby a lot stronger due to their lesser dependence upon meds.
Equally the prevalence of digital optics makes Bangalore and Caustic a lot less useful.
Mirage & Bloodhound are still predictably junk-tier legends just as they are normally; IMO they're both in urgent need of a rework.
