Better sound options for headphones
Apex Legend's stereo seems to use what's referred to as a speaker panning rule. This is ideal for stereo speaker setups, but inadequate for stereo headphones. Any sounds which emanate from the 90-degree arcs to the left and right of the player are panned completely to the left stereo channel and right stereo channel, respectively. This means crutial spatial information is lost. In other terms, only 90 degrees of game space is being stretched over the whole 180 degrees of headphones' real stereo image, when the entire 180 degrees of game space should be preserved
Another welcome option would be an opt-in HRTF system. Other shooters like CSGO, Overwatch, and PUBG use this to great effect. It allows the game to preserve all spatial information over stereo headphones; it allows players to tell if something is happening behind vs. in front of them, and above vs. below them.
