Bringing back old Revenant

Reflecting on the implementation of the perk system (that has been in the game for a while now), I could not stop myself to consider how much innovation could have been added to the old revenant kit.

Considering how Rev Reborn's nerf to buffer his ult regen on knocks has greatly diminished his combat reliability—for now it seems that players do not get rewarded for being first entry and knocking enemies—, old Revenant's kit could, at least to me, be incredibly useful in the current assault meta.

Re-introducing old revenant into the game can most definitely make sense lore wise as well; Revenant is in control of his programming now and could want to have multiple versions of himself on the battlefield to higher the chances of gathering "skin suits" to his collection.

Nontheless, here is is an idea of how Old Revenant's kit could be implemented within the current perk system:

  • Old Rev reintroduced:
  • Base kit:
    • Faster projectile speed on his tactical "silence"
    • Increased timer for shadow form while in ult.
    • Option to return to totem while in shadow form before the timer runs out.
    • Option to leave shadow form (and not return to totem) while in Revenant ult.
    • Improved passive climbing (like how it is currently in game)
  • Blue perks:
    • "Marked for death" : all enemies hit by silence are marked and highlighted for 3 seconds
    •  "Slowed death" : all enemies hit by the silence are slowed for a short duration.
  • Purple perks:
    • "Piercing Silence" : acquires larger AOF on tactical and affects all enemies who have vision on the silence even through walls. This means that if a silence lands near a wall, the animated AOE of the tactical will affect players behind said wall.
    • "Bound doom" : Cracking enemies' shields while in shadow form will grant player speed boost for a short duration. Downing enemies while in shadow form will regenerate shadow form health by 35hp.

  • Aye. Revenant the Silencer was my most favorite kit. Since his execution, I've been a NewCastle Main. Since Lifeline Reborn, Lifeline Main. My Crypto Maining took an increase when invis came around, but now he has a particle effect when invisible that makes him even more visible than being not invisible, so I've not really gone back to Crypto. And since his drone now takes ring damage, I can't retrieve banners as often as I used to. At least everyone can craft banners now, so I can use anyone for that.

Back to Revenant: His old kit was perfection! I always hit my targets with Silence, the speed and angle was perfect!
His Ultimate, the only drawback was if someone got injured as a shadow, to below 50 HP, then shadow effect wore off, they weren't healed to 50, their health remained at whatever it was. Based off your idea, it gives me an idea.
Passive, relatively the same as current, but it lacked the strafe climbing, and the low health vision.
He should keep the current passive, as he is Revenant after all.

Revenant the Silencer Returned: Current Passive, Bring Back Silence, Bring Back Death Totem.
    Blue Perks:
    - I like the Marked Idea
    - Slowed Death, could probably use a different name, and instead could be a slowing field.
    Purple Perks
    - Based off your Bound Doom, here's mine: Vampiric Shadows. While in shadow form, heal for damage done, or a portion thereof.
    - Can't have more than 2 options affecting tactical, and both are in blue, so it has to be Ult or Passive perk. So I'll make a new Idea.:
-- Mk1: (Passive) Hold Crouch to enable Crawl, which has an even lower profile and retains Revenant's speed, but his weapons are stowed while crawling. Activating Sprint while Crawling causes Revenant to dash a meter (much smaller dash than Ash's, but more spammable.) Equipping a weapon or reactivating crouch pulls Revenant out of Crawl. Jumping does not deactivate crawl. Cannot dash midair.
-- Mk2: (Ultimate) Allows shadows to use the passive toggle key (Default H) to return to the totem and restore health over time.
---- Or is added to base kit without the regen. Or something else. Perhaps it upgrades the return effect to add regen if it is base and this upgrade.
-- Mk3: (Passive) While crouching or climbing, nearby allies can crouchwalk or climb as fast as Revenant. This is so they can keep up with him.

Crawl looks fun, but would they ever go for it?
Group bonus could be cool too.

Old Revenant was goated, people just didn’t know how to use him, you know, when they changed him, I knew that he would go back down, and I was correct, I stopped playing revenant after they changed him.

Yeah. Current Revenant is the worst on the roster. Old Revenant was the best on the roster.

  • Old revs kit was better. Ever since ash passive what's the point of his tac; its worse, slower, less of them, and barely has range.

In my opinion. The ability to take away all abilities is what made him great in the first place.

But they had to change it, they won’t change it back. That’s just **bleep** up.

  • Honestly this has become a very frustrating subject. Its been a very long while since the community told respawn to give back old Revenant but the only thing they did was changing pathfinders grapple every now and then probably because he has a larger fanbase. Imagine how much annoying the apex community would get if they replaced pathfinder abilities or wraiths. Us OG revenant fans NEED TO STAND UP.
