Bronze games don't feel like Bronze games

Not sure if this is just me, but playing in Bronze is no longer the same with the new ranking system. Either the average MMR is down to like 1000, or the MMR algorithm is broken.

I used to enjoy the slow climb up from Bronze to Diamond... but Bronze games currently feel like High Plat games from the old system.

  • Because that is how it works now. you play against the same mmr players no matter what through all the ranks! The rank you get after every game is just a rank that corresponds to how good you are compared to your hidden skill group. The issue here is that the new MMR is based on what the old rank system was based on, good aim, good KDA and good strategic placemnt. They have completely changed what that picture says.

  • I uninstalled the game because I find 0 satisfaction now that from provisional through, rookie, bronze and silver where I got enough of it. I played consistently against Diamond and better.... ffs I only managed to get to Platinum earlier patchers because I could not put more time into the game. But hey good to know I was Diamond skill level but I don't enjoy playing in that skill level in rookie... bronze... silver... gold... plat... diamond... so on.....

That doesn't make sense... how can people on equal MMR be both platinum and bronze?

  • @Stevoyd Because your rank only depict how good you are compared to your skill group (Hidden MMR) so if you are put in a Platinum MMR skill group matchmaking then you are only ever gonna face that skill level no matter your rank.

The idea is that you always should meet qualified people but the gain and loss in MMR does not sway that much. Certainly not when you get to higher skill level. So what that mean is that you are forever facing the same people over and over again no matter the rank. It is just stupid and anyone can see how it will end up. This hidden MMR does not really work when playing ranked in Apex, it would be amazing in casual play because there you want to meet the same level no matter your skill level.....
