Caustic need MAJOR REWORK or some serious buff
And buff Wraith please
Seriously that champion has been GOD TIER, SS+ TIER since release. ALL PRO PLAYER in this dan game are either Wraith or Pathfinder main with insane 10k or 20k kills. Coincidence? I think not. Meanwhile Caustic still the worst champion in the game. Sure his kit is fun, his edgy evil mad scientist personality is kinda atractive to me. Been playing him since season 3 rank, win couple of games and he was fine in low elo because people are - let be honest - not very smart there. UNTIL you reach platium and then you see just how underperform and weak and PATHETIC his trap and noxus gas is. Pretty much EVERY CHAMPION in the game has ATLEAST ONE counter to his gas:
- Pathfinder: Can pull himself out of the gas in literally 1 second - MASSIVE COUNTERPLAY
- Gibrata: His shield can block his gas - MASSIVE COUNTERPLAY
- Wraith: Void jump - Void jump and Void jump. OH and she got 3rd party on her side which makes Caustic trap even more USELESS - MASSIVE COUNTERPLAY
- Octane - Doing Octane's thing..yeah literally he can slide so fast during drug time that the trap could only deal 4 damage to him when he pass them - MASSIVE COUNTERPLAY
- Bangalore: Can counter-smoke him which will make his passive become pointless - MASSIVE COUNTERPLAY
Other counter to Caustic: Recon champion
- Bloodhound: Sonar scan - not a big counterplay. Beside he is now considered out-meta due to Crypto being much better at surveying.
- Crypto: Drone.
"But block door" you said, well from all what i have seen and played that is THE ONLY JOB he is capable of and that is IT. Also his trap can block teammate path which sometime can REALLY hurt your teammate when you land onto crowned area and your teammate have to flee away. And ALSO his gas can deny the healing from ally Lifeline's drone. Yeah that's suck no wonder why he has been C tier - Caustic tier for so long.
I could not tell just how difficult it is to play Caustic in high level playing field. His massive hitbox even with fordified passive is still not worthy in this game compare to the low profile and small hitbox of Wraith or Pathfinder which ironically has been GOD SS+ TIER since launch. He also has an extremely low mobility in this new map meaning people will tend to try to hit you more unlike other champions. Also the fact that his noxus gas (ultimate) is so pathetically weak that even DBNO (down but not out) player can still crawl out alive from his gas makes his lore and splash art missleading completely .
Suggestion on rework:
- Turn his ultimate into a grenade-like ability. Currently more often that not it is being used like a normal smoke to cover yourself. By doing so it will have more use on the field and have more function than just a meme in old King cayon map."But Bangalore" you said, well i would argue that she get to use 2 of her smoke charge and also her smoke can cover a much larger area so therefore Caustic won't outscale her.
- Make his trap smaller and can be hang into celling (Debatable since this change can completely alternative the way he used to be played - Blocking door)
Buff:Many people have already suggest dozen type of buff for him. I would like to repeat some:
- His gas - both trap and ultimate - NEED SERIOUS DAMAGE BUFF. 4 damage per tick is a joke, that's why people in high elo just keep on walk or slide right throught it like nothing. You know Smoke in Rainbow 6? The defender operator? I would like THAT type of damage but maybe tune it down a little. I suggest 15 damage or even 20 damage per tick.
- Or alternatively, give his trap's victim a "Dizzy" effect when they walk throught or stay inside the gas. This massive buff will force his opponent have to serious consider whether or not should they push/chase Caustic in his own field.
- Give his teammate noxus vision as well. Minor quality-of-life change but will help his team-play much better.
Or i'm just a salty edgy Caustic main complaining why on Earth is Wraith and PF are still SS+ tier since launch and i should learn them instead of playing what i like.
