@fuzzykeuhI’ve had a couple issues with the mode but most of them have work arounds
1. A few times after respawning the map would be completely empty (not even show the map) so I would have to switch legends to choose a point to be able to respawn
2. Speaking of choosing points, it is rather difficult on a controller to choose with the joystick cursor and I would prefer if it was just 2-3 set options you could choose between, I’m not sure how to word it but instead of manually moving the cursor over to the spots it should already be selected so you could just choose between them instantly to make it easier I’ve always had trouble with ‘’fine tune’’ adjustments on a controller so I either go too far or not enough its why I absolutely hate sniping on this game and I’m almost tempted to switch over to mouse and key just to make it easier to select lol or start switching between mnk and controller constantly
3. I haven’t experienced a true 9 v 9 yet, either the game starts off as a 7 v 7 or a 8 v 6 or players end up leaving, disconnecting, going afk, etc so it would be nice if they would fill in for the missing players, a mode like the control mode needs to have spots filled in that are missing
4. I am not a complete fan of the loadouts and wish we could have more freedom on what loadouts we want to use like on Arenas like give us crafting metal $$$ whatever after we kill players to customize our loadout beyond the pre-selected ones

I think this mode actually was more fun than arena so apart from "general" improvements like balancing of spawn points, which there always is room for, my biggest concern was the choice to give enemies a red glowing outline, even through walls. I understand that something needs to be added since 9v9 would be super confusing otherwise but I think they got it backwards. IMO, it should be teammates who should be glowing green at all times. Now people will probably think this is a bad idea because its nice to have wallhack and dont have to spot enemies all the time but I see no reason why to dumb the game down and decrease the skill cap when you can achieve the same "clarity" with glowing teammates instead.
Spotting has always been a crucial skill in this game so I see no reason why it shouldnt also in this mode. It separate the wheat from the chaff.

The maps are ok at best. They don't incentivize proper gunfights, especially not for a 9v9.
The weapon loadouts are TERRRRRRRRRRRRRRIBLE. TERRIBLE ZAO TOU LE! I would like to choose what I use. I think others would too. I have no problem getting gunned down by other people's weapons of choice.
When spawning for the first time on a map, sometimes you'll spawn so far away from your point that your team will have already captured it by the time you get there, meaning you won't have an ult charge. Reel in the initial spawns so players can get that bonus. If you get your ultimate, dying should not take it away. You should be rewarded for getting objectives and kills, both of which are rather dangerous acts. Ult should stay after death until you need it. If you level up twice, give them 2 ult charges with a cooldown.
This game mode is really fun. Arena was way too sweaty. This is more casual and calculating that I like. I enjoyed having my kraber stolen from me and attempting to get it back. (The enemy Ash was good, so it took 3 lives lol.) But that was fun. It's silly interactions like this that make a shooter fun.
I think if this were had more QoL improvements and more maps, this could be an incredibly fun permanent mode that I won't be able to put down. You could also do just a killy match where there are no objectives and you just fight over care package spawns. This is a great start to something amazing.
I do have to say though, it looks like you can still only have 3 in your lobby. I'm disappointed. I have 5 friends that play... - 4 years ago
@BalladalidilaThis mode is 10 times more enjoyable than Arena ever was or ever will be (unless they add different game modes for Arenas), this is what I expected Arenas to be but its more of a mash up like I think Arenas should have TDM, King of the Hill, Plant or Defuse a bomb, etc and the control mode basically mashed TDM and King of the Hill together which is perfect and honestly the most I have enjoyed playing apex in some time, I just love the infinite respawns because my pc isn’t the best in general... i’m getting 33 fps just standing here at point A so battle royale was becoming unplayable in a sense
honestly Im confused it was 33 fps but if I run around the room it goes up to 40-50, also defensive legends like Wattson and Rampart actually feel like viable options to play in the control mode but I can’t say the same about caustics I’ve just been 1 clipping them all day
- 4 years ago@TheApexLegendNub Adding to #3. I played a few games and my team always get outnumbered. People started leaving early and there is no way to fight. Enemy team still have 9 and we're left with like 4 or 5 people. Adding leave penalty may help a bit.

@ATOMXIILeaver penaltys never really work, for example if you get one all you have to do is go play something else a few hours and come back without a penalty so it never really teaches anyone a lesson and ends up harming players who disconnected, crash, get a random error, etc instead of punishing players who go afk or leave early
Filling in for the players who never made it in, crashed, disconnected, left early, etc is a better option imo or they should start calling off games that are not true 9v9s like Rogue Company does so you will at least start with a full lobby instead of half of one... sometimes it may get called off 2-3 (or more) times in a row but eventually its a full lobby but I think filling in would be a quicker alternative
- 4 years ago@TheApexLegendNub I do like the idea of filling players and I have seen it can work well on some other games.
I think we all experienced the random error causing us the leave penalty at some point in other modes. But we already added that to Arena, it might be easier to add to Control in the meantime than making a new continuous filling system.
Personally I don't think 9v9 is the main attraction point for this mode. They could have done it on Arena if they really want to, smaller map for potentially more action or fights. I just want to express that getting outnumbered in Control mode is especially frustrating.
