After quite a lot of games it feels like Control essentially boils down to "who has the most master players". The amount of times a single (squad) of master player(s) dominated the entire game was astonishing and demoralising.
Especially when those masters start spawn killing.
Having (what seems like) unbalanced teams feels ome of the biggest problems with control (and all of Apex to be honest).
When Control comes into game I never play anything else. Any other game, any other mode, nothing. I cant even watch my favorite YouTube videos before I go to sleep because I just cant get enough of it. I WISH IT WAS PERMANENT THING really. I just wish I could play this a bit more often before I go to sleep for ever. :D Im getting so much better in game and so quick, it is like a dream. Apex is very hard game and Battle Royale just isnt enough fighting to get good. Arenas are just too competitive and sweaty so I cant really enjoy it. This Control is just chill and intense fights all match long at the same time, its perfect.
New map (Lava Siphon) is the best map ever, maybe Wattson is a bit overpowered there, but its because noone thinks of playing Crypto and EMP those fences out of the way so yeah, Wattson is okay if she can be countered.
Control could be even Ranked because why not ? If Overwatch 6v6 can be Ranked why 9v9 Apex couldnt ? 🙂
I hate seeing people complaining about unballanced teams, you can still have good fun if your team dont leave because Apex isnt Overwatch. Please dont complain, we want this mode to be permanent.
- @Awhoo_Thunder I rather not see ranked control unless they fully delete Arenas. Simply put having 7 "modes" (duos, trios, trio ranked, arenas, arenas ranked, control, and control ranked), is too many modes to split people across and I doubt that many people are going to want to grind 3 different rank modes, or a combination of them. The main modes have a lot of players, while arenas seems to have only like 5% of the game's playerbase playing it (don't know exact numbers, just that you see diamond-preds in bronze-plat matches because they don't really have anyone to fight).
Not to mention the fact that they need a better anticheat. I just got done playing 4 matches of control, and saw 3-5 players on the enemy team, with 2-3 that I've noticed on my own team (when we fought near each other) using aimbot and what appears to be wall hacks.
If they can solve the hacking issue (or actually detect people cheating more often than not), narrow down the modes, amonst fix issues like audio, servers, etc. and do something about the smurphs, then the game should have a larger community to eventually support 3 main modes and 3 ranked modes.
Currently I don't see that being a thing.
