Cross-play, Steam and Switch announced. Let's talk cross-progression

Hello Apex Legends Community,

I am 100% sure I'm not the only one excited and happy that EA and Respawn have finally announced and confirmed that cross-play and Apex Legends for Steam and Nintendo Switch are all coming this fall/autumn.

It's still disappointing cross-progression hasn't even been planned yet.

Apex Legends is a very competitive Battle Royale game in which your statistics matter. If you must or want to change platforms, you are forced to start from the beginning again.

I agree: Apex Legends is the best Battle Royale gameplay-wise, but what I must hand over to Fortnite (and Realm Royale if people still play that) is how flexible and "crossy" (sorry) they are with both cross-play and cross-progression. You are always ready to play with friends and jump into action, regardless of your platform or theirs.

Part of that is soon to become a reality but if you want to make a video game in a large and competitive genre, then you need to catch up with the titans (popularity-wise) that are Fortnite and PUBG AND add your own innovative ideas to stay one step ahead.

Apex Legends has a great potential for the future and if it can implement such systems early on, it will push Fortnite off it's paper throne and become the most popular and best shooting battle royale ever.
