Cross-progression wiped my PS4 account despite prior PC–PS4 link

I recently started playing Apex again after some time. Every time I return to Apex, I check my PS4 account to see how my OG skins are doing. But when I checked today, everything was gone, and only my PC account remained.

I played Apex for years on PS4 before switching to PC and spent a lot of money on that account. I’ve been waiting for years for cross-progression so I could use my skins and legends from my PS4 account. But when it was finally released, and I followed all the instructions for linking before the merge, everything still got wiped. That’s not how it should be at all.

I did everything right, but I still lost everything.

Is there anything you can do to restore my old account?

    Hey rekt_by_mattisa

Just to be sure, are you signed in to the same PSN account you initially played on, and are all the right accounts displayed on your connected accounts page? Please also review your account's order history to confirm this. More often than not, players are missing progress because they're on the wrong account.

If you're in the correct account, what you're encountering now might be related to how your account was initially set up. When you first started playing Apex on PS4, did you make an EA account? Or did you just start playing?

If you didn't create an EA account yourself, it's highly likely that your PSN account automatically created one when you first played (using your PSN account email or an old one). So when you later linked your PSN to the EA account with your PC Apex progress, the PSN-earned progress was left behind in that old EA account, and cross-progression did not merge that progress.

In other words, cross-progression only works if both the PSN account and PC account were already using the same EA account. If one of those platform accounts had to be unlinked from an EA account, game progress would stay with that account. The third scenario on this page explains that a bit more.

Since you still have your PC account progress, it's more likely that your PSN account was unlinked from an old EA account and linked to the EA account your PC account was linked to. So to regain access to the PSN-earned data, you'll need to locate that old EA account. Once you do, live support can help re-link your PSN account to it, and you'll be able to access the progress there. Though the risk of progress loss still exists since those accounts were unlinked in the past

Let us know which scenario fits your situation best, and we can see what can be done from there. Thanks!

  • I did some research based on your answer, and I found the original account the PSN was linked to. The order history on this EA account matches with the recipt I got from Playstation Store when I first got the game. I would love to get that back on the original account, but is it not possible at all to get that progress on the other EA account (this account)?
