Crypto is pretty strong, I just think most people use him incorrectly.
Crypto and the drone should be constantly on the move separate of each other. Even in combat, I’d switch to drone for about 2-3 seconds to get a quick view, then immediately switch back. Your not really in danger of dying even in intense combat because you will easily see anyone with your drone that is nearby and can switch back if necessary. The drone is also a “distraction” and you can flank enemies busy trying to shoot down your drone.
Add in the fact that he can ping banners to detect nearby squads, pick up banners with drone, instant revive with drone, scan surveys with drone. That’s a lot of situational awareness which counts more than you think.
@Twix1138 The problem with that strategy is the drone is easy to shoot down and since you cant move at the same time as it you cant use it as an effective distraction. What he needs is an autopilot mod for the drone, or at least the ability to throw it out in front of him without entering it. Plus an actual passive thats not just part of his tactical. These features could easily make him strong enough to compete with bloodhound in terms of recon, and a small EMP buff is all it would take to make him a great choice to complete an aggressive team composition.

- @zombieshoota5000 There is many way to makes him good without the speed boost.
For example, banner that are over 200 meter from crypto would shown the number of squad in that area.
Another alternative is for the drone to become silent and able to scan without alert enemies (Enemy Crypto still would be alert) if it remain stationary for more than 10 seconds. This can turn it into a CCTV that protect the rear and avoid getting flank. - @DrSeptimus the banner thing seems too complicated and powerful and maybe instead of making it silent is reducing how far people can hear the drone.
