This is what I don't get.

Parents wants to play a game thats meant for teens/adult with a "kid".

Kid is introduced to profanity/toxicity.

Parent blames Interwebs...

I blame bad parenting. 

THERE are kid friendly games out there you can enjoy with your kid. Not games that are meant for you and have your kid(s) "enjoy" that.

They are kids, treat them like it. 

I am not defending toxicity, I just don't see the justification in your argument.

The game is classed as a 16+ game.
At this point a person should know that he can avoid this by muting the offensive players.
There is a way to report this behaviour and these cases are taken very seriously.

If you can't weapon yourself against harassment you should disable voice chat all together.

Some players can get frustrated just as in real life and start to shout when they can't win.
There are ways to report this behaviour so there is no need to call this game corrupt.

I disagree with pretty much everything you just wrote.

1. On console, you still can't disable voice-chat. There's no volume slider.
2. They added a "mute everyone" button in the character selection menu only this week and you have to push it every match.
3. According to Kotaku, Community Managers received clear and structured procedures to deal with disruptive behaviors and reports only mid-March 2019. Before that, EA's employees had no policies at all... So... Can we please stop pretending that EA was ready when they released Apex Legends?! Can we please stop pretending that these cases were taken seriously when we all know how they kept replying to our reports with template-based replies about cheating instead of them being about bullying?! An employee asked me to send a report to EAC, but I got a reply from EAC this morning saying that A.They don't investigate about bullying. B.They don't monitor consoles.
4. "Toughen up" is never a solution against bullies and abusers. Asking victims/offended to "toughen up" is indirectly siding with bullies.

In my experience (believe me I have delt with bullies my whole childhood) standing up to bullies is the most effective way to put a stop to it. Well in real life anyway.

Online bullies is different because any reaction you give, you have given the troll what they want. Best to cut contact, report and move on. Hopefully EA make the process easier in Apex.

I know it's hard at first, but don't take it personally, most bullies and trolls do and say these things because they have a miserable life, it's just a reflection of their own wretched existence. Have you noticed that most toxic players that call their team mates "trash" seem to die the most?

Bullies will always exist, no matter how hard the authorities try to crackdown on it. You can not change people.

However I was playing Overwatch today, first time in a long time, played about 10 games and to my surprise not one toxic player. Whatever Blizzard is doing seems to be working hopefully EA are taking notes and follow suit.
