Dashboarding is back!?

I was in a game last night and I was playing with a mirage, unfortunately I wasn’t paying attention to his name but seeing him die in 30 seconds made me think I didn’t have to remember it. As I thought to myself  “here’s another player who thinks he can take a 3 stack pred team in ranked because he got a r99 off drop” he begins the **** talk, naturally. I explained I did not have a weapon and no I did not com that but I said I would craft his banner because I was conduit. He said word for word “don’t worry I’m not gonna lose points but you will” and left the game before the banner timed out. Indeed, I proceeded to lose 75 and I’m just wondering if really got away with it and if dashboarding is back? Anybody else seen this?
