DDOSers Are Back (S19)
First game in few days, I got on, reached top 5, and then suddenly couldn't move and was frozen where the ring would kill us. Both my randoms got disconnected and I was able to "move" but kept "rubberbanding" back to where I was. I started forcing myself to move and slowly was rubberbanding back to a new location each time, then I was able to freely move again, but both teammates then got knocked.
I tried to revive one, using heat shields, and the other one died to ring. After reviving the one teammate, they instantly got sniped by a Vantage, (who was on the DDOSing team) and had aimbot, as they somehow shot through me, (I ran in front of the bullet and took no damage, but again, its a DDOS attack, so chances are I wasn't "there"). I then tried retreat to heal up and try to outlast the other teams, but was forced out due to "code: net", and then I tried to rejoin and was hit with "code: over, couldn't join previous match as it had ended".
There was still about 3-4 other teams left when my team got kicked out, and for it to had "ended", means a team DDOS'ed the rest of the players out of the game long enough to kill them.
- Ping was moving between 40ms and 80ms, (which is typical for me)
- I/O was moving between 0/0 and 355/57
- The packet loss was moving between 0/18 and 0/100
- Choke had no change and remained at 0/0
- Prediction error and packet loss kept popping up a lot
As you can see here, one player got 3 kills, and the other one got 2 kills, but I want to clearify that the ones who died to ring were the ones who were still up, while the ones who bled out were the ones who got knocked. Kills were credited to players who got knocks and players who did some damage before the ring took out the other players before the DDOS.
I have the whole thing from the moment we started lagging out to the end clipped, however at this point, I don't think EA/Respawn would really do anything since I don't even know who was DDOSing.
Honestly, Apex... its 100% dying. I've started putting my time and effort way more into other games these days, and I'm honestly glad that I am if coming back to Apex just means matchmaking hell, followed up by a lobby full of cheaters. I've even heard that a lot of the "pro" players were recently caught playing with cheaters, (on purpose), and cheating themselves. (By a lot, I mean like 7 or so). Still, for a "triple A game", Apex sure doesn't seem like it.
Here's also something that seems like its proof that the lag wasn't "normal", the challenges weren't progressed and I most definitely did play a match and dealt some damage.
Edited: Played a second match, and now the trackers updated with the collective total from both matches, so the one it didn't "count" and the second one are showing.
