Forum Discussion
@VhaleiIt adds to gameplay, as it has in other FPS games since time began. The discussion is around whether apex embrace it like quake did with strafejumping or not and why. You saying it's an exploit and should be bannable etc is a red herring to the discussion at hand.
Innumerable games have embraced bunnyhopping as it adds to the game, or in the case of Quake, Tribes and other competitive FPS games - defines the gameplay. It's more difficult to do than just pressing heal and walking, or sliding or anything else that is passive rather than active. So it's another skill to master the use of, thus making playing the game slightly more complicated and varied.
When you talk about risk/reward of healing or not, that mechanism is still there and any consideration of disabling your weapons to get armor or shields is always a consideration of risk/reward.

@VhaleiYou're comparing apples and oranges, unless your ONLY consideration for any games mechanics extends to "was this intended", in which case I can do nothing for you :S at least 50% of competitive FPS meta has been defined by stretching the engine and learning what it does. That's what good players do.
The question to ask is "does this ONLY provide an advantage to the person behind one specific rock in the game?" - no.. So it has absolutely nothing in common with what you're talking about. It expands on the style of play available to EVERYONE.
