Dammit, people: with the jump master system, if you didn't have time to loot or couldn't control your own rate-of-engagement, then that was your own responsibility. Since about season two I never once dropped in a place where I couldn't loot as much as I wanted to without interruption, and I almost never engaged an enemy squad before I was ready OR after I was already bored. The more I hear people complain about how "random" and "unskillful" the old system was, the more I realize how I honed my play style to take advantage of people who weren't knowledgable enough or patient enough to manage their own risk. I know it pains you to hear it, but risk management is a skill. When preset drops take that skill out of the equation, the game becomes a lot more one-dimensional, more homogenized, and, imo, more boring.
no, it becomes a game where you can play it. So because it requires no skill the pro league uses zones instead of a drop ship? You can jump all you want to a zone, try and loot but your team can just push out and engage a fight without you. With zones, the first fight is more isolated, you can help your dumb, inting team and win the fight and not worry about 3 more teams diving on it. Zones spread the game, make you think about how to rotate and win. Now people just hot drop, get 4 kills and die before first ring and still get positive rp until diamond. Its lame, its bad for the game and reverting the zones is the single worst thing Apex has done since introducing 300 dollar cosmetic programs.

I miss those early start 3v3 fights. For sure.
It took skill to finish the fight before the 3rd party arrives. The 30 second rule applies so much more with Dropzones.
When I'm really locked in with like-minded players we understand to finish team fights in less than 30s, 45s at the most. Otherwise, you'll most likely get pinched. Finishing a fight quick to prepare for the 3rd party is an adrenaline rush.
Dropzones help create team chemistry and momentum to start the game. Hopefully with the hybrid ranked system Dropzones can start at Platinum, at least P3.
