EA is a garbage company

So i have played EA games since the mid to late 90s, well over 20 years. Despite the bad reputation it has garnered over many years. Apex Legends is one of the more recent games I have played and I have spent money on Apex Coins and battle passes and enjoyed my time on the platform. I was one of the many people whose profile/game was broken by the Apex Legends Aftermarket update. The issue being when you load up the game it crashes at the splash screen before entering the lobby with no errors whatsoever. I reached out to EA on the forums, via email, and on twitter and got NO help whatsoever. I chased them around for over a month trying to get an answer about what can be done to fix my account. I was able to make a brand new account and the game works fine but I still am without all the upgrades I purchased on my original account. Ultimately, I decided that since I cannot access my battle pass that I would file a dispute with paypal to get my money back. This was a last ditch effort to resolve the issue since nobody from EA was willing to help me. I ONLY disputed the $9.99 transaction for the battle pass for season 6 and didnt even bother disputing the money i spent on cosmetics and things like that even though I was still robbed of those items. Well I won the dispute since EA never responded to paypal or to myself and what does EA do? they close my entire account altogether removing my access to the dozens of games I purchased on my account which tallies well into the hundreds of dollars. Now this is a load of BS and is no way to treat a LONG term customer who has spent money on their platform. Now I will make sure this gets spread everywhere I can to let customer's know how crooked this company is. BUYER BEWARE.

  • @suprvilln87This is quite a normal thing. When you dispute any thing and it grants a charge back the accounts are automatically locked and banned until the dispute is paid for. All companies practice this unless proven compromised account. 

    In theory you received your battle pass. While you could not finish it. You did receive what you paid for but unable to complete it is not grounds for a charge back the dispute it self is what landed the account EA wide to be banned/locked. Pay the 9.99 they should restore it maybe.

  • yeah im not paying 9.99 for something i cannot access.. it's ridiculous, if anything i should dispute more than that. The tech support on their twitter even told me to install a program that is SPYWARE, they literally just googled some crap for and sent me a link for troubleshooting league of legends crashes that had some spyware link on it. completely ridiculous.

    Go to one of the game publication sites, they love bad press for greedy companies.

  • I agree with you, if it happened the way you said.

    If the game kept me from playing I would not pay for a battle pass either.

    Xbox doesn’t do this so it is NOT the norm stop saying **bleep** for the sake of saying it!
