Sad. You guys had a diamond in the rough that could have been polished to epic proportions. You had it for really short period, but tanked. NO leadership or proper direction, least of all no one at EA/Respawn able to listen to the early huge player base that already abandoned this game by now. Once big Gamers/Streamers saw no value anymore and bailed the ship, then Shareholders holding their breath til after S2 released and.... and... gone.

How can a company not see the warning signs, or heed anything from the the sheer numbers that bailed. Would have been worth paying attention to WHY all that was happening. Real shame shooting your own self in the foot, aside from being a complete embarrassment to whoever should have had responsibility over this.

Then, you leave another big 2 week gap between S1 and S2 where there's just no reason to play so even more ppl just leave, YES LEAVE, and wait for s2 before playing again, the others reluctant to come back and try. Talk about forcing more of your own players away with bad business decisions. and general lack of attention to the core issues that still resonate in the forums today.

If this isn't feedback, frankly I don't know what is.

I think you guys had a good run in the start but in time players got bored. Fortnite the battle royale has kept players interested with weekly updates. maybe you guys should spread out your larger updates over weeks.

Who would have thought that releasing a buggy game with audio issues, balance issues, cheating issues, crashing issues and netcode issues and not fixing anything for 3 months while also releasing 0 content in the same period would result in your game dying?

The saddest part is that its not even about new content, its all the other issues that weren't addressed that built up and annoyed people until they stopped playing. How do basic bugs go unfixed for 3 months? Its just incompetence.

EA executives are dumb, greedy and clearly not gamers with no clue what gamers want. They quite literally have no idea what they're doing but i guess that entitles them to massive paychecks anyway.

The funny damn thing about this is... who cares what you ppl think. You think Respawn or EA does? You’re nobodies to them doing nothing.

They probs aren’t even bothered by this news. Why? Apex made it investment times over already. So even if this tanks, they still got money in their pockets and had ppl talking about them.

I bet all of you are still playing apex tho xD

@Koochi-QNow that I've read the article it doesn't suggest to me that Apex is in trouble.

When financiers talk about 'disappointing' performance in this capacity it means "less than the incredibly hopeful returns for the investors" : they expected it to be the fortnite killer, and it isn't.
So?

Everyone in my friends list is still playing it.

Stocks always fluctuate like this so it isn't really cause for concern and I still see many people on my friend's list still playing so there is still hope

To everyone in this chat who's uninformed about the facts. Fortnite did not become successful within a whole year after release. Updates were slow, lot's of bugs took a long time to fix. And twitch metrics are not the way of measuring the success of a game.
Apex still has millions of players, and most of the FPS players that were not part of a Fortnite e-sports team before Apex released are playing Apex all the time.
Only Shroud doesn't, but Shroud has been a variety streamer and will stay a variety streamer.

@Anlbrd Haven’t read the article so this may be uninformed but it’s as you stated. I wanted to make note of Nintendo stocks, but I was like ‘nahhh I’ll just leave my comment like this’. Investors are always disappointed it seems xD.

Every BR that gets ‘hyped’ is slated as a fortnite killer. It’s not gonna happen anytime soon tho. Investors have likely already seen dividens but they always just want more. They don’t care that it’s not a fortnite killer. They just want more bucks to come in and what better way for a BR to do that. Dethrone the king cause that means more exposure of their investment.

@Koochi-QOnce you hear someone talk about the "x killer" - whatever x is cannot be killed. It means that in common parlance X has already become the benchmark. Which means it's going to be constantly picked up by newer players as a matter of course, re-evaluated by former players and it means that it comes with the investor confidence that the article spoke about almost by default.

Where's that WoW killer people have been talking about for 15 years ? 😛
