I have either gone deafer or somthing is wrong with the programming. Specifically with the winter event, footsteps outside of the carriage are non existent, while I'm inside. I use speakers rather than mic, is this the problem?

@OldTreeCreeperIf your speakers have any bass/treble options I do the bass all the way up and treble all the way down, the footsteps are lower so more for bass while gunshots and voices are treble it helps for me i always hear footsteps when others don’t and can always hear where the gunshots are and the voices but sometimes I can’t hear people with mics well, I don’t think it’s necessarily because i have the treble down because even with headphones I cant most of the time you hear 1 player crystal clear then the next 5 not so much
@FaIIenAngeI777 thanks for that I'll give it a go and see if it makes any difference, but i can hear footsteps right next to me. Its a home cinema setup, with a sound bar and a sub woofer.
I haven't great hearing in one ear so directional for gunshots isn't great. No mike interference though as mikes off.
It's not you, it's the game. The sound is so terribly messed up in this game, it just simply doesn't match up to anything going on Around you. And how the footsteps become non existant. Titanfall 2 has aweful sound problems too. So I assume it's something respawn is doing. It doesn't matter if you wear headphones or use 7.1 or 5.1 or stereo. It's all broken. I absolutely love titanfall 2 and I've grown to really like apex legends, but the sound issues have made me take extended breaks because it's so bad sometimes. I dont spend big money on quality sound equipment (headphone or home theater) for it to sound bad, and I expect that a game, free or not, should sound properly when I'm playing it.
I'm not sure why they have this issue, but it's obvious.
I believe that although they have a passion for what they do in making the games, but they know nothing about audio and sound.
@tdnuhn00 its a bit odd as the lack of footsteps is not a constant issue. It must be either a conflict in the software or theres some sort of hard limiter thats chooses which sounds take priority and in some instances makes the wrong choice.
The latest one was a creeper 😃 creeping up silently from behind me, no footsteps at all.
Its very interesting to me that with a full on fight going, that the speakers still give full on distinct clear sounds that are not muddied, nor distorted. So they do know what they are doing and my 2 cents is more for a 0 in the wrong place in the coding and is proving very elusive to find.
