The Revenant skin's definitely my favorite of this bunch, though I like Loba's quite a bit as well. Something about hoods...

What sort of skins were you hoping to see instead?
  • @Irres169I bought the Valkyrie one because of the amount of details put into it but also because I only had to spend $2.20 to get it lol because I already had some money in my steam wallet from selling those weird steam sticker/badge thingys you earn so I just bought the season bundle to get the turquoise valkyrie skin and 600 coins

I have bought 2 heirlooms from events in the past, meaning the whole set of skins....I somehow managed to justify it.

But with this set, I am not paying $160 for one skin and an heirloom.  All the other skins just seem like there is no effort put into them.  Crypto and Horizon is straight out bad.  Valk is slightly less bad.  Bangalore and Gibby have funny looking helmets.....oooooh (bad).  I get this is my opinion, but I would not buy them at $2 much less $18.  So I guess something that looks like it is somehow justifiable at $18 a skin.

Perfectly reasonable if you're not happy with how those look, thanks for the feedback!
  • @EA_Mako I wouldn't say that the skins are bad, per se, but many of them have significant issues. Gibby, Horizon, and Valk's are too bright to be practical. Bang's lacks detail compared to the reference material, along with a regrettably clunky-looking helmet. The textures on Crypto's look cartoonish and unfinished; his skin is plasticky and the overall design is very similar to his default.

Note: I understand that many of these collection event skins are designed for "shelf appeal". Unfortunately, that's really counterproductive in-game. Respawn would benefit from setting brightness standards for new skins for more consistent gameplay. There's a really, really good reason no-one runs Horizon's bright-pink launch skin anymore. I love and own Gibby's Samurai skin, but I'd never run that bright-orange eyesore in a competitive setting where it'd actively enhance my opponent's reaction times.
