2 issues, One, Gib is one of the lowest played heros. No one in a competitive shooter wants to be big. I'm not sure their design logic, but someone must like Overwatch while they made Gib. Second, Gib already has too many updates. 15% standing damage reduction, with a Aim shield, and an ability to block even more damage. How much does one need in passive help?
Being a BR RNG does play a role in the outcome of most matchs, but heros that each have passive damage reductions / bonus should be the moment a design team should say stop.
I agree no one wants to play a big hero in apex in competitive. So how do you create that incentive?
Idk if you watched the EXP tourney this weekend, but every team had the same exact comp of wraith, pathfinder, wattson/lifeline. Leading to some pretty uneventful fights other than aiming.
I dont believe any character can have too many updates if it's refused to be played.
Really they shouldn't have had damage reduction/increases. They should have just adjusted base health pools. I think respawn is passed this part now though.

They should have just normalised the character sizes... Why beat around the bush providing fixes that don't create any change regarding the baseline problem : some characters are bigger than others.
- 6 years ago@Anlbrd I don't really ever see that happening though to be honest. The amount of work that goes into remodeling every single character, and then fixing every skin isn't simple.

It's true, The work needed just coudln't happen from Respawn currently. The changes to their money maker (Skins) would take sometime as well. I understand why Apex got big out of nowhere, EA paid every mass streamer to play it.
i just don't think that Resapwn thought it was going to stay golden this long, so they started working on Star Wars, and now that is hurting Apex. In all though, a remodel of every hero is what needs to be done, no matter how long it would take. Apex is not Overwatch, i'm not sure why they keep going that way.

My opinion to fix this? Add a new gametype that makes all the heros the same size, just have different skins. Turn the abilities into gadgets and spawn them on the map. This will solve a couple standing issues with Apex.
New heros won't need the countless hours to update to balance. Second, Respawn can focus on the abilities as gadgets and change them without hurting other core gameplay like they currently do with every update.
