How dare you bring back a one time only collection event...
No wonder game is dying.
I was thinking about coming back but after that spit in the face no thanks.

Hey @YourWatson,
For clarity, here is the announcement from the original crossover event. This was never announced by us to be a one-time only event, so if that information came from somewhere else I'm afraid it was incorrect.
You may be thinking of the one-time aspect that "The sword will not be coming to the Mythic Shop after the event ends", which is still the case.
Apex Legends™ & FINAL FANTASY™ VII REBIRTH Event
You are able to find the in-game version (different than the mythic item) as part of the event which has that event-specific moveset as well as the materia and limit break in this mode, but there are no one-time only aspects reappearing here.
