Not gonna lie - read part of the post / diagonally and it made me feel equally amused and sad... this is a typical example of a person that keeps this game free to play for us, who spend no money on the game. Thanks for that.
On the other hand, knowing stuff about business, marketing and human psychology I can only feel sad for people being "used" by video games these days in such way. Basically some smart people on EA side realized that people like NickBeam27 has some "unusual" ways of thinking about BR competitive game, so they created a system that "pressed the right trigger" and got his money.
As for you NickBeam27 I can only say - free world, everyone is used to do whatever they want especially if they have money...yet it would be more "sane" if you would:
a) spend your money on things that bring value
b) if criticizing a game then for its cheating situation or technical optimization
c) play the game to actually get good not to wield re-45s like some ancient cowboy and still get dunked on every game as soon as you face some decent players given re45 pretty much never was meta until the change it underwent recently (which in turn you are complaining about)
Apex is known for mixing and matching legends and guns to basically force people out of "one trick pony" yet people still "main" legends, guns, maps and what not... winning / evolution requires change not stagnation, always have, always will be.
Best of luck to you and thanks again for funding this game for me and others! At least this way money well spent!

Well, you have the most abrasive tone and attitude of anyone in these forums. And that's saying something. But there was nothing in your post I could disagree with.
You're right to point out that spending money on a f2p game is not bringing any value to the player. I'm confounded that people don't click on the store tab and just start laughing. Instead of spending. But there you have it.
You're also right to remind us all that the dev does these things to change up the game, to keep it from getting stale, and to get players out of ruts. Which, I readily admit, are very very easy to get into.
Nevertheless: this developer used to be known for slow, incremental changes. Lately the changes are dramatic and wholesale. I call that poor planning. I call it desperation. I call it a sure-fire way to frustrate your players. In this case, one who pays the bills. How can that be a good idea? How can this be the best way of going about making changes to the game?

I am not logging changes or paying honestly much attention to them besides major meta changes e.g. I still have not memorized Olympus new layout and POI names because I just knew from first few games in ranked that I will not hang around long enough because of cheating issue and matchmaking still feeding preds.
Yet from what I can recall people before "let's max it out" approach actually asked for more / faster changes.
First things that come to mind:
— time when they removed recoil from Spitfire along with intro of Horizon = everyone was basically sitting sky high and sniping people with Spitfires and it took a lot of time (maybe even whole split) before they reverted recoil part
- support meta and gold knockdowns = if not mistaken also hang around at least for a split if not whole season, at some point if not mistaken they removed gold knockdown still meta remained quite strong
- 1.5 tier difference limit in ranked = people asked for that removal for ages
- demotion protection removal = also took like 2-3 seasons from start of the conversation to what current system representsList probably goes on.
People who spend money and have sort of ADHD need new maps, skins, guns, legends something to click that shines and makes noises. So current system fits them better for sure.
Personally I would also say that changes that were done as of late: Ash dash invention and fix, Sparrow, new version of Valk, Alter version 1 and 2, change of Pathfinder's ult, armor / ability upgrade system, last but not least which was a long time ago but Broken moon and E-district maps... they all kinda work for me and I would say job well done to all of those.
Made me learn new maps, new legends, new ways of playing, new guns, oh yeah supper happy with Bow btw (finally basically a hitscan reliable weapon in the game which clearly shows skill, aim assist / hacks, server problems), plus overall fun to play for me as MNK.IMO they should continue this "maxing out" yet keeping in mind ALL legends to eventually have situation where every legends in some aspect of the game e.g. highlighting enemies so they are easier to spot, rotation speed, defense buff, damage output etc. are super strong, yet suffer / fall shot of best legends in other aspects aka win some / lose some, must think about whom to play and how to play vs picking Wattson just because she is cute and player has cute skins, emotes and what not for her...and go play ranked like that :D
Finally for me as higher skill than average and versatile player there is always a chance not to play meta, I actually actively avoid it for the most part especially in lower elo lobbies, for sure pubs. I just usually decide before grind session which legend I feel like playing and then just grab whatever is on the floor where I land and change weapons only when I ran out of ammo or have a chance to pick up gold / red ones along the way, otherwise I basically never change guns. (with exception that I don't pick up guns that are really bad aka your re45 of p2020 before their new versions, mozam before hammer point and akimbo invetion etc.).
To sum up for me this game has only two HUGE problems = hackers and support to them from EA + matchmaking that feeds lower level players to those hackers.
One major problem = community that contains too many casuals that still for some reason come and play ranked and get toxic because they loose too much.
One sub-major problem = audio and other bugs like dead-sliding or FPS stability, server connection errors that light up like old BMW panel.
Rest is totally fine, minor annoyance or great for me since day 1.- reconzero2 months agoSeasoned Ace
Once again, very little I can disagree with... except:
"One major problem = community that contains too many casuals that still for some reason come and play ranked and get toxic because they loose too much."
At first I thought I must have misread what you wrote. Then I remembered it's you, and there will be no varnish on the truth. I only wish you had substituted the word "players" for "casuals." To me there is a valid distinction between them, but as you used the term I'm not really sure that it was intended as anything other than a perjorative pertaining to players who, after all, really do get ill-used by the system and then complain vocally about it. Maybe you meant something else by "get toxic" ???

e1b2b41da38ee689 no need to be underhanded insulting. That is not nice.
We all have different reasons, why and how we play the game. Lets respect that and try to understand the others situation.
NickBeam27 come on, you've been here long enough to know not to call people names.

Thanks protector of the weak for chiming in :)
I do respect the fact that free world = free choice. What my comment is aimed at you can read in detail in this conversation.
And I don't find it insulting to call things as they are: a fool shouldn't be called genius or right thing should not be labeled as wrong just because majority are mislead / uninformed.
If someone has problems with constructive feedback - they should work on their ego, mental, etc. rather than me adjusting my choice of words.
