I was playing mirage in ranked game and i died so i waited after my banner expired i left the match but i got an abandon penalty, is this a new thing where if they can craft your banner you can't leave or it is a bug.
Yeah, seems like you cant leave the game after your banner times out if there is a support legend in your team. Perhaps there is another hidden timer for this before you can safely leave, just like the hidden timer if your banner is collected. Anyways, its kinda stupid. If you have any competitive integrity, you dont wanna rank up by just watching your random teammate sit in a bush for 10 minutes, not even considering how unfun it is. This is a game and supposed to be fun.
Yeah i tested it today there is hidden timer after that you can leave safely, agree!
As someone who has made numerous attempts to genuinely craft banners and then respawn teammates, only to have 90% of randoms leave either 10 seconds after dying or when I was clearly on my way to a safe respawn point (not sitting in a bush somewhere), IMO the safe-leave timers should be longer, or there should be more enforcement on actually violating them. It takes away from the fun/accomplishment of actually succeeding with a respawn, and diminishes the value of the Support class passive. Many times I've gotten to top 5 or top 2 teams after some of those games where teammates just left. At least a couple of times I've had a 2v1 matchup against the last team, which could've been 2v2 or 2v3 if teammates had just stuck around.
