Also, crossplay in a competitive environment will never be fair. Controller has the advantage in close range gun fights, but lacks in the movement departement or just standard "speed of execution".
- 4 years ago@Solim66 well that's really the problem isn't it? Basing inputs on the average player. I will agree with you that console players are generally worse than PC players. Mostly because if you own a gaming PC, your likely to be much more into the act of gaming than someone who owns a console, which is a more casual gaming system. Not to mention the costs involved.
Nonetheless, when you finally get a console player who is actually halfway decent, aim assist is absurd and ridiculous. It's downright oppressive. All it takes is for a person to have a 1.25 k/d in order to be placed in lobbies with the best players in the game (in pubs). Perhaps the game uses other factors to decide your lobbies, but this is the main one that I've noticed. Most players have a substantially lower k/d.
That being said, I have that k/d and I am constantly being put in the higher skilled lobbies, which means I am playing against good console players... which means... I'm getting fried at close range every time. That's annoying. If not for aim assist, I would have a better shot against them.
The movement vs aim assist argument is also silly, because the "average" M&K player is not Faide, Calamiti, Aceu or any one of these other movement gods. We do not rebind our scroll wheels to have forward input, we do not superglide, wall jump, tap strafe, or do any other thing except for slide jump (which controller can do). The fact that it is so difficult to be good at movement, requiring a crazy keybind setup and hours of practice means that movement is not generally a factor. As an FPS, aim is the most important thing. If you play your basics correctly, such as peeking corners, retreating, sticking with your team, you will statistically do better than someone who doesn't do any of those things, flies around like a mad man, and misses their shots.
If they are doing all of those things, then you're playing against a pro and there was nothing you can do anyways. The debate comes down to this:
M&K players are complaining about "average" controller players, and controller players are complaining about the "best" M&K players.
The two inputs should be separate, because we're essentially playing two different games. Cross play is a bad idea. - 4 years ago@Solim66 @Android_Nana
I will share this everywhere I come across a stupid "Aa Is Op AnD a ChEaT" thread.

It's not about the Aim Assist, and no, the PC no longer has the advantages against modded controllers, strike packs, etc...
Controllers on PC and Cross Play on PC needs to go, it's bad!
75% of all games I play have extreme cheating going on. It was bad enough with all the Aimbot, PSIlent, Wallhacks on the PC, now combining the modded controllers, strikepacks, no recoil, etc... It's just a major mess!
Not to blow my own horn, but I have 2600 hours in this game, I see what's going on, I have enough experience in this game to speak on this matter.

It's not even comparable. If your a pc player and you can not kill console players. You might as well quit now cause you will never stack up to actual pc players. My friend has a PC and the precision is ridiculous. The control they have with a mouse is so perfect compared to my thumbstick which my finger can easily slide around on making me miss many shots. When pc players complain about console players it's just embarrassing because it's the exact opposite when It comes to advantages.
