If they did raise the level requirement for ranked, they'd also need to address the current problems with mixed-squad matchmaking.
As soon as you reach Diamond, you simply cannot play ranked with your Platinum-ranked friends because you're pulling them into lobbies stacked with Apex Predators.
The current workaround is to have a 2ndary lower ranked smurf account that you utilise when playing with your Platinum-ranked friends.
Raising the minimum level requirement for ranked would block this workaround, breaking friend groups along rank boundaries.
I'd suggest the following solution:
- When queuing, you get to choose which ranked queue you go into.
- If you enter a ranked lobby that's lower than your account rank, you can neither win nor lose ranked points.

You are Diamond.
Friend 1 is Platinum
Friend 2 is Gold.
You choose to play in a Gold-ranked lobby.
You are Diamond; you can neither win nor lose ranked points.
Friend 1 is Platinum, they can neither win nor lose ranked points.
Only Friend 2 can earn ranked points.
For your next match you choose to play in a Diamond-ranked lobby.
All 3 of you can earn points.
This would allow friends to continue to play ranked together, without the the need for smurf accounts.
It wouldn't make account boosting any more, or less, prevalent than is already possible with smurf accounts.
+++++++++++++++++++++ I also posted a similar topic a week or two ago. It is not fair when you are 100+ level with good stats and boom game put you in a team with level 11 and level 21 who are complete idiots. Their style of play is pathetic, idiotic (shooting their own teammates/ do not distinguish the enemy from a friend). I fully agree to rise the ranked level to 100. This will help you to avoid brainless players with any skills.

This wouldn't solve any issues, it'll just create bigger ones. The system is fine as is. If you play with players in lower ranks, you still get placed into the highest rank in the group which would mean the lowest ranked players would get smacked still.
As I pointed out, you can already do this; it's just formalising the process rather than relying upon smurf accounts.
