This is getting worse. 3 games in a row tonight where I had to go back and res a team member, only to get caught in the ring. Who's waiting at the edge of the ring to eliminate us? Ring campers. Why even bother getting into a firefight in the early game anymore? Winning a gun battle just means running across the map for 5 minutes only to be downed by a waiting team. This needs to get fixed guys!
It’s true... Some players have difficulty adapting to a game that requires a level of situational awareness that goes above just knowing where the closest enemy is.

I find myself running from the ring often just to run into another team. Lately it's been running from place to place because my team is *somehow* always in the middle of everyone else. One of my matches yesterday lasted long enough for the ring to be 3 stages away from being closed. (Big enough to where you can see someone within 300-400 or so meters) and guess what? 11 teams were still alive.
We placed 3rd, but there point is that everyone was camping the outer ring, picking off people who escaped it, while attacking those inside. We had two places on the map where enemies could flood into from the last ring and everyone pushed from the same side.
While it's fun to be in battles more often in season 3, it's not fun to be 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th+ partied. Whether there's a small grace period or not. This is Apex Legends, not the opening of Hunger Games where everyone dashes for a weapon and then about 50% of everyone gets killed.

Thanks Darth. You might be happy avoiding gunfights and spending your time camping, but that's not what I came for and it seems like a large majority of the community agrees. Ring damage is ruining gun battles in the game. Combine that with the larger season 3 map and current emphasis on mid to long range weapons, and we have ourselves a camping fest.

@Dalepeople Increasing ring damage is just another independent variable! 😃

@DalepeopleIf the ring isn’t meant to be a legitimate threat, then it should just be removed altogether. Doesn’t matter, I’ll adapt to whatever the circumstances are. Like I said, some struggle with this sort of thing.

I disagree - the point of the ring is to bring people closer together on the map as the # of people in the game diminishes. Otherwise the game never ends. So the ring has a purpose - but that purpose shouldn't be to eliminate teams.
We won a game last night because the ring eliminated all the other teams. No final gun fight, no action. Nothing fun about winning like that.
We also lost 2 games where we had a player down and tried to revive him, only to have the ring overtake us before we could get back into the final fight. Out of the 5 games I played last night, 3 were decided by ring damage. I'm not sure how anyone can defend that as being good game design.
