Input Based Matchmaking / Disable Aim Assist During Ranked Play
Aim assistance doesn't belong while other input devices get nothing at a consumer competition level. On a business level, it just allows one set of devices to thrive, while phasing out mouse & keyboard.
I'm quite aware of the technical capabilities of a mouse & keyboard, but using the argument that it's fair to have aim assist for controllers in the same lobbies as mouse & keyboard just because someone has the potential to use their entire arm isn't a sound argument.
It's naive to assume anyone that has the potential will fully utilize it in such a way they become part of the 5%. If I looked at everything in an assuming way, everyone that has used the internet should be on the same level as Albert Einstein in theoretical physics and know multiple different languages.
What needs to happen?
- Aim assisted devices shouldn't track and/ or trace opponents through on-screen effects like skills from Legends.
- Aim assistance devices shouldn't track through such objects as foliage in game.
- Ranked should have the option to either have input based matchmaking, or allow controller users to join if they disable aim assistance (If users don't disable aim assistance, they're put into aim assisted lobbies).
